July 1st.

I just got fitted with these spacers yesterday, they commented on how tight my teeth are and it might be 'a little painful'.
I've hardly eaten since yesterday, I have to take Ibruprofen every few hours, and i'm in so much pain.
All of my teeth on the top row are tender, can't wait to get these out of my teeth.

Oh and I get my braces on the 8th, one week today.
I'm getting the Damon clear on the top 6 and Damon metal on the rest.

    Hi hanabee!

I wish you strength to handle those ugly spacers! I just get rid of mines after two weeks yesterday. It was very painful for me too, but in a few days I accustomed to the tension - though I wasn't able to strongly chew even after the second week, and now it's my braces that prevents a good meal. Well braces are ideal for weight-loss...

Good luck with adjusting to the spacers. It's important to chew with teeth that are sore, as this can really help with the discomfort. We recommend patients chew gum, or a damp cloth if their mouth is sore. Many like touse a cold cloth, as this helps their mouth to feel cooler.

It's great that your teeth are only being forced apart for one week, as it sounds really uncomfortable. Where I work we haven't used molar bands or spacers for a few years, before I started working for them. So I have no personal experience of spacers, but have been told that for people with 'tight' teeth, they can be quite uncomfortable for a few days.

Take good care of your mouth!

I feel and remember your spacers pain! Thank goodness you have only one week vs. the two weeks that I had and then since I have had my braces I have had to go in and have four additional sets because my stubborn teeth are just moving as they will and one set of my spacers came out and after two days without it my teeth moved to their original position.

I hope this is NOT your case and you have better luck than I did with mine. Remember pain pills and chewing does help like Sunny said. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks everyone! It's feeling a little better now, i've been chewing on the left side but not the right, it hurts too much
I'm just worrying now that they won't have moved my teeth enough and i'll have to postpone getting my braces on. I hope not.
