Any one else find that sometimes the hospital just doesn't listen to you? Or they do, but the communication within the hospital means the message gets lost?

Basically, I'm due surgery on both jaws on 21st July. Sounds alright, still got loads of time to sort everything out. Well not really. I'm going on holiday soon, from 12th to 19th July. I won't get back until about 8 o'clock in the evening, so I told the hospital at my pre-op assessment on 28th June, "I can't do 12th-19th July." My surgeon was aware that I was going on holiday, back when we set the date, but I've told various hospital staff many times. Surely that means everything is ok?

Well guess what - I got a letter today, dated 30th June saying that I have an appointment on Tuesday 19th July at 9:10 am. Great. It should be interesting trying to rearrange that one...

    All the best for your surgery and don't be concerned about the hospital getting your personal dates mixed, they're extremely busy and there focus on getting there stuff organised.

    they changed the date of my op from the 21st sept to the 28th of sept.. aarrgghhh even more pro longing it
    so glad i have found some one who is having it done so close to when i am.and in the uk under nhs
    are you having upper and lower ?

    No I didn't really take any, you know, specifically as before pics. I'll see if I can find any decent photos...

    did they tell you how long your be in hospital after op? i was told a bloody week!!!

    They said I should be out after a couple of days... they think i could go home on the saturday if im fit enough...
