I'm back and brace-free!

I finally got my braces off on 29th December, just in time for the new yearI smile every time I see a mirror now. It wasn't that nice getting them off though...
There was quite a lot of strain on my teeth as each bracket was prised off, then a fun test of endurance as my ortho polished my newly naked teeth. That wasn't so bad I guess. But then the most enjoyable part of all... the moulds. Now bare in mind I had both my jaws broken and my wisdom teeth removed in August. So when she yanked my upper lip out nearly as far as my nose to get the mould in, I admit, I couldn't deal with it any longer. As the last mould set, tears started rolling down my cheeks. As she pulled the mould out, I nearly choked!
However, in the gap between appointments I indulged in some much-needed retail therapy and spent almost all my Christmas money. Then, before I popped back to get my retainers, I had a Wispa Gold. The chocolate bar of my childhood which has been brought back as a sponsor of the 2012 Olympics (seriously, what ISN'T nowadays?!) so bubbly with a scrummy layer of caramel...
Naturally, I gave my teeth a good brush before my next appointment, where I received my retainers and a photo of my bite from 08/08/2008, before my treatment started. And all I can say is... Thank you orthodontist and surgeon!!!!
