Today I got a phone call telling me about the operation date being changed. But to be honest, with the key dates to move in to my room on 24th and 25th September, I just didn't want to have my surgery on 1st September. The admissions lady was very good about it and said that she personally would feel the same and gave me tyhe number of my surgeon's secretary in order to phone her.

So I did. I said that I understand why it has been moved, as cancer cases MUST take priority, but could it be put off to when I have more recovery time? Such as Easter, or even next summer? She said just hold on a bit, and she'll try to get hold of my surgeon and see what he thinks.

As she didn't say WHEN she'd phone back, I spent most of the next 4 hours really distracted and worried - wouldn't you be after so many changes?

But thank goodness, she phoned back about an hour ago. It's all sorted, they've moved a few things around and I am back on the 4th August! Now I am so flipped out, thinking it's changed but actually it hasn't and on top of that, I go in TWO WEEKS TODAY!

I will sleep well tonight, that's for certain!
