The trials and tribulations of the trapped tidbits

Posted 08-20-2008 at 10:41 PM by HeadJam
Well
I can't complain about pain
I can't whine about the shine
I can't snork over the torque
and
I can't gripe over any other tripe

However, I can complain about all the little tiny bits of food that get stuck EVERYWHERE. Sometimes it takes me 15 minutes of picking and tonguing and prodding to get the last piece of crud outta there only to have a friend point out a big piece of lettuce I missed. Alas many a lass has snickered while I pick out a big wad of cheese and try and keep my mouth closed at the same time.

Oh well,
HeadJam

Love the rhyming. I know what you're talking about the food getting caught in the braces sucks!

Well written HeadJam!

Some types of brackets seem to attract and attach food more than others. Mine aren't too bad, but I still find food stuck in places I'd prefer it not to be, but luckily it's mostly around the molars, where the buccal brackets have hooks.

Make sure you drink some water (or other chosen beverage) when you're eating. As a small amount swirled quietly can help dislodge food and move it to a better place!

Good luck!

The ryhmiing AMAZING. I love it. & I tottally agree with you on the picking out the food thing. Not too much fun. I'm always worried food is stuck inbetween my teeth. After lunch i don't have time to visit the restroom to check... Terrible. But it doesn't take me that long to get most of the food out. Maybe you want to consider buying one of those mini toothbrush (come with little totohpaste) and bring it with you on-the-go. That way after you eat you can just go brush it out. I do that sometimes when I can tell theres a lot of food stuck.
P.S. Drinking the water to get out food for me is better then sitting there worrying.
