So, I went in with another broken archwire (same spot). They changed the wire to a lighter one to keep it from happening again. He put a lot of bends in it too, so that's interesting. They also added two more elastics from the upper to lower canines. These ones are stronger and you can see them when I talk . I sure hope I don't break anymore archwires or I'll never be able to open my mouth!

I went in today to fix a broken archwire on the top, and my orthodontist suprised me with elastics. So, instead of just replacing the top wire, I've got elastics from the back top to the bottom canines. I'm pretty lucky this time because you can't see them when I talk. He also filed down my front tooth that looked weird ever since it became straight.

I don't plan on telling my brother (who I live with) that I got them. I wonder how long before he'll notice.

I have yet to cause a bracket to fall off, which is great because I lost a few of them when I had braces as a kid.

However, when I was at the appointment today, the tech was putting in the upper wire to the back bracket and forced it off. I had to sit there for about 20 mins while the doc finished with someone else before he could come re-place it.

Well, after he was all done, they found some heavier wires and now I'm sore again. Except for the bracket coming off,...

I've started dreamin' about my braces.

Now, I realize that anything that's a big part of your life naturally finds its way into your dreams, but why must my braces pester me there?

The first dream I had, 3 brackets fell off and one of them had split clearly in half. I spent the rest of the dream carrying them around on a plate trying to keep the plate balanced so I don't lose them.

So I'm starting to get some real grievances about my braces.

1. It seems that my damn teeth bite together in a different way each day. I know this is a good thing and very indicative of how messed up it must've been before and that it's getting better. That doesn't mean I like it though

2. Sharpness. It seems that certain foods or drinks sensitize my lips to the sharp metal. The Damon system braces have sharp protrusions on the top and bottom that would normally...
