So I am 11 weeks in and all seems to be going ok so far
Before and at 11 weeks:
One thing I am not so happy with, but kinda am at the same time? because it's because of movement... I have a gap! well, a black triangle in my opinion. It's between my left central incisor and the lateral incisor.
I will be having my last (impacted) wisdom tooth removed on the 21st of March, yay!

So I've been wearing my braces for 28 days now. Everything is going ok, flossing is getting easier by the week and I no longer feel so upset/stressed at the thought of it. I use regular floss and it's going well now. I am able to thread the floss under the archwire pretty easily - it does get a little more 'difficult' when it comes to the back teeth, but I'm getting there.
My teeth pretty much stopped being sore by about week 2 or 3... but I noticed in the past couple of days my 4

So I thought I would post an update, 5 days in. The aching/soreness of my teeth seems to have eased up in the past couple of days, my teeth are no longer hurting/aching when I wake up in the morning. I have now started to eat a bit more solid food (only a bit though), but although my teeth are no longer hurting 'constantly' (yay, I don't need pain killers anymore!), they do still hurt a little while chewing, but nothing like compared to before. I am still unable to chew properly though, and that's

Well my upper braces were fitted on Thursday, all went fine and I had no problems. I have all metal with Purple ligatures, but my central incisors, left lateral incisor and 1st molars have wire ties rather than ligatures.
I started to experience some discomfort about 9 hours after they were fitted and it's been pretty much constant ever since, apart from when I have taken some pain medication.
My back teeth don't meet, but I don't have any build ups/bite turbos, so

So the spacers were fitted today. I have 9 in total, 4 on the lower (2 on each side) and 5 on the upper (3 on the left and 2 on the right). I didn't notice the 3 on the upper left until I got home. I looked in the mirror and thought "huh? 3 on the left and 2 on the right? argh! 1 is missing!" lol. I phoned to make sure and they got back to me later when the Ortho wasn’t so busy and said it was fine and "he wants to create more space on that side" so that's why the extra 1, whatever

The 2nd part of my consultation with Ortho number 2 was today. I am very pleased with him (and the rest of the team there) and his treatment plan... so I have booked my B day.
Spacers will be fitted on the 10th November and upper braces on the 18th November (lower braces fitted later into treatment).

I already typed up a 'detailed' post about this consultation and uploaded it to my Blog, but it turned out quite long... so I wont post it all here. I will just shorten it here.
So in short: it went very well!
He took photos of my teeth, photos of my profile and did impressions. He also measured up the sizes for molar bands.
No extractions are needed (yippeee!), well, apart from my final wisdom tooth I have left (he doesn't agree with extracting
So earlier today I had my first consultation for a fixed brace. Firstly, I just want to say... I will definitely be having another consultation with another Orthodontist :braces: .
My consultation went ok. I made a short list of questions I'd like to ask, but he answered most of them before I even got to ask, so that was good. No molds or x-rays were taken at this consultation (they would be taken at next appointment if I went ahead with treatment), but he did look in my mouth/around

So my first consultation is tomorrow (Thursday 12th August)... and I am feeling quite nervous!? . Thinking about it, I'm not really sure what part I am nervous about... but that might be because I haven't a clue what happens at a 'normal' consultation.
The Ortho I am seeing tomorrow is at a practice that my Dentist refers all his patients to when they need a brace (adults and children). This Orthodontic practice
Eww two fillings on the back teeth!
