So I thought I would post an update, 5 days in. The aching/soreness of my teeth seems to have eased up in the past couple of days, my teeth are no longer hurting/aching when I wake up in the morning. I have now started to eat a bit more solid food (only a bit though), but although my teeth are no longer hurting 'constantly' (yay, I don't need pain killers anymore!), they do still hurt a little while chewing, but nothing like compared to before. I am still unable to chew properly though, and that's because my upper right 1st molar is still hitting on the lower molar band stopping my back teeth from meeting. I might have to give my Orthos office a call/visit and tell them about this, maybe they can adjust the lower band, seeing as it isn't actually doing anything yet as it isn't connected to any other brackets.

From my previous post/s you might have been able to tell I was just a bit upset with flossing ;-), well, lastnight I actually managed to do a little better than the previous nights... YIPEEEE! I still didn't manage to floss EVERY single upper tooth, but I basically only left one tooth out on each side (my 1st molar), so there is a light at the end of the flossing with braces tunnel lol. I just used regular floss, as the Oral-B Superfloss I bought does NOT fit between my teeth.

Anyway, I thought I'd upload a couple more pictures as I have been a bit lazy on that side. I didn't take any photos of my upper arch until today, 5 days in. So here is a picture of before braces and with braces (with braces picture taken 5 days in) and a photo from front of upper braces:

i'm so excited for you! Judging from your pictures, you are going to see a lot of progress right away! Keep at the flossing, it will get easier and easier, until one day you'll think to yourself "what was I freaking out about?!" haha

Glad you are not feeling any more soreness in your teeth! I'm going to be closely following your blog because you are only a few months ahead of me in your treatment, so it will give me a good idea what to expect :)

    nice update :toast:

I hate flossing as well and I'll admit I don't do it everyday.. I try to get in there about 2 to 3 days though.. I use a waterpik daily and mouthwash like a maniac.

Fanastic to read that you're adjusting quickly and things are becoming so much better for you!

It's great that you're working so hard at getting a grip of the flossing. You will be rewarded with gums that glem with health, so keep at it! With the Oral B ... thread the stiffened end under the archwire ... for the top teeth, thread from the above the archwire down ... and it's loads easy!

    Good luck!

    Thanks all

Everything seems so much better after only 6 days... The first couple of days I kept thinking "what have I done!" but I'm starting to feel more positive about it now and not questioning myself. Brushing and flossing is certainly a task, I try my best to keep up a good oral hygiene routine. I feel like I am at the sink for agggges lol.

I'm also eating 'proper' food now that needs to be chewed, so all the discomfort has pretty much all gone now.

lilpeepers I can't wait for that day! :D I managed to do much better lastnight, so it's definitely getting easier. I was worrying alot that it wouldn't, it really did just seem impossible!
