I already typed up a 'detailed' post about this consultation and uploaded it to my Blog, but it turned out quite long... so I wont post it all here. I will just shorten it here.
So in short: it went very well!
He took photos of my teeth, photos of my profile and did impressions. He also measured up the sizes for molar bands.
No extractions are needed (yippeee!), well, apart from my final wisdom tooth I have left (he doesn't agree with extracting healthy teeth for a brace and thinks my face shape would change for the worse if I was to have extractions). I might not just need a brace, I could need headgear too! I certainly wasn't expecting that... but not in a bad way, I don't mind. What has to be done has to be done.
I'm honestly so chuffed it went well. This Orthodontist seems really kind and comes across as he loves his job and is eager to help, he doesn't give me the impression he tries to 'sell' it to you and isn't trying to convince you to pay for the highest priced brackets.
I have been sent away to await my written letter detailing all info etc, then I have to make up my mind if I want to go ahead with treatment.
Update: 2nd part of this consult is on the 18th October 2010
