Hey everyone! My name is Jenn. I'm 19 and I currently have metal braces on my upper arch as of 4/23/09. I had my lower braces put on 6/4/09. I'm really looking forward to having a new smile and I've saved up on my own for a long time to do this. Feel free to ask me questions or give me advice...I'll need it!

I have not visited you guys in so long! I am sooo sorry. Things have been CRAZY in my life and I need not scare you to death with the details! SO I believe I am in month numbero 7 of metal braces!

My teeth are nearly perfect!! I am sorry I don't have any pictures to supply you with but I will try to get on that when I get a chance. Some things that have happened in the past five months concerning my teeth:
I moved up to a more rigid wire on the top and have had a few powerchains here and there to get that upper canine to rotate and thus it did! As for my bottom teeth, my premolar has juuuust a little bit more to come in before I can get elastics! Otherwise, everything is straight and puuurdy! Right now, I feel like not much movement is going on for the past two months because it is just fine adjusting now waiting for that premolar to come up and out all the way so I can get elastics on and have my teeth moving as a whole unit to get rid of my overjet.
Seeing my progress at the 7 month mark is very frustrating. I should be extremely happy but in between the waiting for elastics and thinking that maybe 2 and a half years in these isn't really needed, I am hoping they let me get them off sooner that two and a half years!! It seems ridiculous right now! My teeth have been PERFECT for a good three months now and with being in rubberbands for a year or so, That still only adds up to maybe two years! WHAT IS THE REST OF THE TIME FORRRR!! JUST LET ME OUT OF THEM ALREADY!

Great that your teeth have done so well Jenn!

Talk to your ortho about what needs to be done to your teeth. You know your bite needs to be corrected, so maybe this will cause other things to need adjusting. Usually there's a few months of movement that goes on below the gums, or places we can't see ... but maybe your teeth will get tiime off for good behaviour! Here's hoping!

    Good luck!
