Hi wonderfull everyone!
Hows your braces world?
Mine is very quiet! I actualy had a question and need some advise if people already had same problem than me? Im actualy treating an severe open bite with braces, following with an orthognatic surgery. The problem is I always push my tong on my front theet when Im relax, or swallow. Anyways, wirh my ortho we foxed the problem with some exercices, so on day time, I have no problems clutching my tong in the right position. But the PROBLEM IS: at night! When I sleep, I have NO control on my thong and I often realize when I wake up that my thong is still pushing my theets when I sleep! With braces its ok, I mean my theets are ok and they went back in my mouth! But IM scare for After the whole Treatment thing, that if at night my thong still get in wrong position, that ill screw my mouth after the surgery and braces...Is there anything I can do? My ortho said: If you ok in the day, youll be fine at night too your thong will keep its position...BULLSHIT i say! Plase, I need advise!!!

Bye beautiful people!

You're right ... if you don't get your tongue thrust corrected, it will undo all the work your ortho and surgeon do. Talk to your ortho about what's happening, as you may be better suited to an appliance that has to be worn full time (invisable from outside of your mouth) ... and this prevents the tongue from going to the back of your teeth. I had one that had a bead on it ... think it was called a 'bluegrass' appliance. This worked for me, due to my thrust being minor. I doubt it would work for you though, as it didn't stop my tongue from going to the back of my teeth, but instead gave it something to 'play' with on the roof of my mouth.

Talk to your ortho and ask what your options are. It would be dreadful to have your open bite fixed, to have it back again due to something that can also be changed! Good luck!

Sunny was your tongue just touching the back of your two front teeth or was it just pushing it..because i think have this problem...i thought it was natural for me when my mouth and tongues are relaxed for my tongue to be basically against the roof of my mouth and the tip touching slightly above my teeth

I thought it was just touching them, but my orthodontist did some tests and watched the way I spoke and drank from a cup and he could tell from they way I did this, that my tongue was pressing against my teeth.

Please ask your ortho about this. Good luck!
