Hi everybody, after a whole life waiting to get my perfect theets and mouth, Ill have to wait an extra 6 months!

To resume my situation, I have a severe case of open bite and I had very crooked theet and in addition of orthodontic treatment, I'll have to have orthognatic surgery on my upper and lower jaw. I was suppose to have it done this christmast, but I dont know why, my orthodist decided to keep one of my weesdom theet (because I already had one molar missing) anywas, I met the surgeon last week who told me I have to have that thoot remove, and since we have to wait the bone to heal, there is a minila waiting period of 6 months beetween thoot extartion and surgery...Im really deceive but meant ime released, because I am SO scared of the surgery Does anyone had it before? Anyways ill keep you posted guys, tomorow ill have to suffer again by havin a thoot remove!! yay! but its a worthed pain so...YAY!

Shame your tooth has to be removed. I've had a wisdom tooth successfully moved forward to become a second molar, which is great for my chewing ability.

Good luck with your surgery ... I so wish I could have it ... so I'm quite envious of your ability to have your open bite closed.

Good luck with your continuing progress with your bite/teeth/smile!

Good luck, do not think to much about the surgery to much it makes anxiety worse. I am having the same thing done in summer 2010, I know I will be nervous but it will be fine, just remember it will be worth it. I think it will be great to not have to eat like a cave man ( I only have two teeth that touch) and when you say severe I see something like that where eating can be a task and sometimes embarrassing. So just keep it positive I am sure you will be fine and remember you do not have to do it, but you are and it will make life much more enjoyable.

I am also having surgery done in the fall of 2010. At first I was really scared to hear that, but as the days pass I realize that this is my choice and something that is going to better my life and make my day a lot easier.

OMG you are sooooooo right! Eating in public was so embarissing for me! None of my theet were touching together so figure yourself how pretty I was...With braces at least now my theet are touching together so I can eat a burger without the steak stays in my mouth and the bread in my hands lol Im suppose to be done for surgery same time (summer 2010)! Keep me post! Take care xx
