Hi everyone. It's been 2.5 months since I last posted. Things have been going pretty well. My teeth have been moving a lot in the past few months (ouch) then say, six months ago.

I think the side and back teeth are really starting to catch up. I am going to blog real soon about my past 2 checkups wherein not a heckuva lot happened, but Ortho very happy at last meeting. Pix too.

Hi everyone. I'm finally getting some recent pix up. I had to get a new version of Photobucket. What a great program, I just got it tonight and bam the pix are up. I've recently been using Picasa and have had a tough time with it.

Good grief!!! It's been FOUR-AND-A-HALF-MONTHS since I last wrote here. It's pretty much been a no news is good news sort of situation. Lots of subtle changes, no big woes.

As of today I've been in braces for 1 year 3 months 3 weeks and 5 days. Gotta love counters. If a civilian <ha ha> asks how long I've been wearing braces I've been rounding up to 1.5 years.

When I began thinking about getting braces in earnest I scoured the internet for information and discovered YouTube has tons of braces related material.

Alas, a lot of the uploads are from mere Tots (people under 20) and it just feels WRONG looking at anything posted by a teen. Frankly at my age anyone under 30 is suspiciously young.

In my last blog I totally zoned on mentioning the truly outrageous amount of LISPING that came with getting the Forsus. It is somewhat better now, but I can lisp like the luv child of Sylvester the Cat & Daffy Duck.

As far as the lisping, and sometimes getting a bit tongue-tied (something I excel at even without braces); if I'm talking to someone and I make some sort of kooky utterance that possibly could resemble an actual word, I often just say something like, "oh these ...

In five days I'll have been wearing my Forsus spring for three months. I am overjoyed to report that in all honesty it's been a cakewalk compared to what I was prepared for.

I guess the simple fact I haven't been here moaning about things is the biggest testimony. Sure there's a certain amount of discomfort -- and it is slightly creepy -- but we're talking braces treatment right.

Okay! It's been 12 days since I got my Forsus installed (read: Herbst, etc) and I'm pleased to report it is going very well. When one looks up Forsus on the internet you often experience a fairly gloomy picture.

Now I realize 2 weeks is virtually nothing in the scheme of the 7 months I'm probably going to be wearing the Forsus on the right side of my mouth and it is definitely a learning experience. Here, off the cuff, are some observations:

I was puttering around on youtube and came across this guy, frickfrock999, and his 146 videos all CANDY REVIEWS. Well we can look can't we? I've occasionally been having treats such as Cheetos and chocolate bars, but honestly the cleanup time isn't worth it.

The vids are all really well done and the commentary is funny. I present this hubba-bubba candy that pretty much is inside a toothpaste tube (although I'm sure the company would deny that until the end.)

It's been five hours since I got my Trans Palatal Expander AND the Forsus spring. It's different!

The intent of Forsus is to bring the right side of my mouth forward (and, I think, a bit to the left)
to basically give me a good bite on my virtually-non-existent-bite-ridden right side of my mouth.

I expect I'll adapt easily enough to the TPA (pic on my photo page of what one looks like) but right now, YUCK, it, along with Forsus is making me feel pretty gaggy. ...

Here we are again. Today is my 8 month anniversary of getting braces. That's a pretty long time.

Some big-ish changes in my personal life, I now have a second part-time job, also at the Hospital where I'm a "TV Lady" this time as a casual working for the Hospital itself, in the office where they sell & ship both metabolic food supplies and breast pumps/supplies/donor milk for new Mom's. This job won't last forever, as I'm taking over for someone on sick leave, but it's ...

Today is my six month anniversary.

I last wrote a blog report on Feb 20th. Since then I had my third adjustment two days later on Feb 22nd and just yesterday April 5th my fourth adjustment.

In no particular order here are some things I've been experiencing since these last adjustments.

* I've changed dentists*. My new one is just down the hall from my Ortho and came recommended. This will make it easy for me to coordinate my three month tooth cleanings ...

As that great lady Liz Lemon is known to say, "What the what?!" I can't think of a better expression to describe last January. This posting details the basic ortho stuff that happened in January. I'll be following it up with my really awful, comedy of errors experience in Jan with Oral Thrush. All fine now it was a supreme drag. All in all it was a tuff month but I'm happy with how the teeth are looking.
