Well, it's been 20 days and it's been pretty smooth sailing so far. I have the feeling that this 12-18 months is going to fly by.

So, my last appointment...

My gaps were too close the first time around to get bands on all four of my back teeth so I had to do another round of spacers and then this past Monday we got the last four rear bands on. (With some elbow grease) They are slightly annoying but overall it makes a huge difference. I can tell that everything seems more solid than it did before. (If that makes any sense)

One thing that I have noticed is that one of my front teeth has rotated ever so slightly out of line and they were lined up perfectly before. I'm sure that this will correct itself over the course of the treatment, though.

I'm kind of bummed, but my next appointment was pushed back 6 weeks from these bands being put on rather than 6 weeks from my initial appointment. I REALLY don't like the idea of adding to my overall time in braces. I am going to call and make sure that I can't move it up because there are two Orthos in this practice and the one who scheduled my last appointment is not the one who did my initial consult/bonding.

Next appointment includes me getting wired. They are going to use metal wire to attach the archwires to my brackets rather than just the ligs that I have now. I'd imagine that it's going to get things moving right along. =)

I'll let you know how it goes.

Great you were able to get the bands on and all is going fine.

Don't be concerned about your next appointment being a little longer away, as the archwire will keep working until your teeth are in a perfect arch shape ... the same shape it was in, when it was put in your mouth ... and I'm sure that won't happen before your next appointment, or probably for some months after that!

Wire ties can be used to achieve many things, so here's hoping in your case it's to engage part of the bracket more to the archwire and you'll see some major changes after that's done. We use them a lot with ceramic brackets, coz they don't stain, and this tying of the wire tie is not to achieve any special movement, but to keep everything looking good and discreet.

Great that you're feeling so confident with your treatment!

Glad you are feeling fine! I am about 23 days in and my front tooth has moved slightly too, and looks a little lower than the other one. I guess it all has to move out to get in the right place. I have gaps in my straight bottom teeth, where there was no gap before....that's kind of wierd, but taking it all in stride. You are right, the time does go by and I am looking forward to my next appointment at the end of February.
