Yep that's right. I went to the ortho Wed. and I had been planning on asking him how much longer I had till my braces came off since I feel like I've been progressing well post surgery. I said, "So, how long till my braces come off? (insert sarcasm) Any chance they'll be off by the end of the August? I only want an approximate time frame, not a specific date." I was thinking they'd be coming off by the end of October or maybe as early as mid September. What he said literally brought tears to my eyes. It turns out, when I got back in 3 weeks (Aug. 10) I'll have molds done for my retainers and then braces should come off on Aug. 24!! I was shocked beyond belief. I still get happy and teary when I think about it. I was supposed to wear my braces for 18 months but they're coming off 2 months early. I'm kinda attached to them so it's happy sad but I can't wait to run my tongue over my bare teeth again.

I also have an appointment with the surgeon the same day as my next ortho appointment. The feeling in my face (lower left side of lip) and tongue still hasn't come back and there's a 50/50 chance now that it won't. We'll see.

Anyway, I'll try to post pictures of my bare teeth next month.
