I went to the ortho this past Wed. I had my "de band check" and it went great! They had to take off the power chains and take the lower arch wire out. Then they made a mold for my permanent retainer. Putting the wire back in was horrible. I also decided that since it was my last few weeks of braces, that I wouldn't do clear or silver power chains this time. I opted for lavender on top and kelly green on bottom. I also now have to wear 4 rubber bands till my debracing date. I don't like these as it feels like I've just had my jaw surgery all over again.

The day I get my braces off, I also get to see the surgeon again (he wanted to see me post braces) and I'm getting my teeth cleaned. (Yea for cleaned teeth!) Then I get to go back and pick up my essix retainers. I'm also hoping to get a home bleaching kit. I already have one picked out that's similar to what the dentist uses and it's only like $35. I can't use the white strips due to a bad gag reflex.

Anyway, that's what's happening in my world!

Congrats, Jenn! I am so happy for you, and can't wait until my deband check.

I was just wondering if you would mind posting a pic. I'd really like to see the Lavendar/green powerchain combination, and also the 4 elastics configuration. I was warned by my ortho that I would probably have zigzag elastics towards the end to pull my bite together, so I'd like to see what elastics look like in someone ready to be debraced. Thanks!

That makes three! I'm curious as to what this configuration looks like.
