Hey everyone,

I am one month into treatment, and that is awesome! 23 more months to go! I have updated my blog.

If you want the short version, I got a canker sore, my teeth have been hurting and i have been somehow grinding my teeth despite the bite turbos....

Anyway, If you want to read it you can find it here:

Great your first month has passed!

Make sure you use wax and keep well hydrated, so hopefully you never have to deal with a mouth sore again.

Those bite turbos must be frustrating for you. Most people I've met with them have adjusted to eat before the end of their first month ... so hopefully you will soon also. Keep trying ... don't give up and keep healthy.

    Good luck with your progress!

My sore is in a place where the brackets could not have possibly rubbed against. I have been usin this gel from GUM called canker-x which I guess acts as a bandaid. I think my cheeks/lips are mostly used to the braces. And as soon as a bracket related injury happens, the wax goes on.

Thanks Sunny for your comment, they are always appreciated

Kaylaa, I know how those sores feel. Congrats on reaching the 1 month mile marker. Time will fly.

    My Canadian cousin,

I feel your pain over canker sores. My headgear tubes are doing me in (although the good news is I won't have visible headgear.)

It's a vicious circle: use the wax to avoid the sores OR don't use wax to try to "toughen up" the area and get major pain. I've been trying to rely on less wax (which I'm getting tired of) but jeepers.

I've also been doing the warm salt water on a regular basis. Might try 50-50 hydrogen peroxide & water too. Will buy some product too, probably this week, I'm going to the States.

    Second adjustment tomorrow!
