I "Like" this, too! My "S's" and "TH's" are horrible today, and it doesn't help that I had to put wax on my upper AND lower incisors... AND that I have to answer the phone at work all day... "Good morning/afternoon, this is Cathy," when I answer. Comes out sounding like "ThithithCathy". I sound rather "tipsy" today, slurring my words all over the place.

    Hang in there.

I get lispy too sometimes! I think it happens when my teeth have moved, so I need to re-adjust how I speak. My S's are usually most affected.

    ... I think it's hilarious LOL

But it will get better! As you get more used to the braces, it will happen less and less. Promise!

I always thought the same, but when I asked people about this, no one agreed with me.

I am convinced that when I was tired there was some change, but I'm happy that no one else noticed ... so it must have been minor.

I've never had spaces in my top teeth because they were so crowded..now, they're all aligned kinda sorta (hey, not bitching, its been 4 months and a few days and a HUGE difference) but there's a new space in between my front main tooth and then the little tooth next to it making everything sound extra lispy!

I work with all men in an environment where we pick on each other on a daily basis...

with that said, they notice LOL

I also have a new space between my two front teeth that I've never had before, and I know for a fact that that's contributing to my "speech impediment". I excitedly showed my mom last night, "Look! Now I can stick my fingernail between my teeth!" She looked at me like I'd lost my damn mind... "Uh, that's good... I suppose... Why would you want to do that?"

My coworkers do notice when it's especially bad because I see a puzzled look on their face and they ask, "Huh?" I just laugh and repeat myself a bit slower...

I had a little lisp when I first started Invisalign, but it wasn't until AFTER I stopped wearing them that my speech became wacky! Because I wasn't used to my upper teeth being in contact with my lower teeth, I started biting my tongue, chomping on my cheeks, and spitting and sputtering. Yikes. I am over it now, but it took a few days!

    All will be well!
