So i think these are the greatist type of bracket ever! Some glad they are so astheticaly pleasing. Very difficult to see, even with a small metal wire. Anyhow no need for wax, I was kinda expecting them to cut in my mouth more then what they are. Does it get worst, or if they dont bother me now, will it be fine?
I am starting to feel some tenderness, not affecting anything really though.
The biggest thing I just relised that I wont be able to do it bite my fingernails. Iknow this is a gross and stupid habit, but darn its going to be hard! LOL Maybe an upside to braces will be that my nails will grow out..hehe.
Anyhow here are some pics I took today with I phone, dont know thing the resolution is that great. Ah well.
Next appointment is the end of April

    Looking great Lauralea!

Some people don't need wax and others need loads of it. Hopefully you're one who won't need it, or maybe only need it for the rare occasion that a bracket rubs.

It's great when patients realise they can't bite their fingernails and can finally see this habit being able to come to an end. Definitely a positive of orthodontic treatment!

Good luck with everything continuing to go smoothly!

OMG they look awesome. I'll show my daughter. Good phone camera.
The ortho said the clear are suppose to be smoother and bother the lips less. I guess that's ceramics in general. But these are really small compared to the other ceramics we saw.
Well good luck your on your way!!

Looks great! I think your upper teeth are less noticeable than my Invisalign! WOW!

Here's to little discomfort throughout treatment!

Thanks all! I'm staring to get torn mouth on the bottom, I was hoping I was in the clear with that, guess not...
Still totally recommnd these type of brackets, very nice. I guess the one thing that is totally different about braces this time is the checkups, before it was like every 4-6 weeks, now it's like 10 weeks. My first check is April 24, exactly 2 months!!!

Sorry about your mouth feeling a bit torn, but get the wax on those brackets, so your mouth can toughen without sores. Also rinsing with warm salt water can help soothe and heal the areas that feel rough.

With the archwires used now, appointments rarely need to be closer than 12-16 weeks, unless the ortho is following a particular piece of progress. It doesn't matter what your brackets are ... as the archwires are the same. Some ortho's still chose to see their patients more often, due to 'habit' and some people just don't understand how the memory wires work. We don't have a set time for appointments, as the ortho's I work with allow time for changes to occur. The memory archwires are in the shape of a 'perfect' arch, so they'll work until your teeth get to that shape also ... which means they can work without ortho contact for a year or longer. Obviously our ortho's will want to check progress sooner than that, as often 'additions' like powerchains, powerchords, elastics etc are needed to help a particular movement that the archwire is working to achieve.

Good luck with your mouth quickly returning to feeling great!

Holy smokes, those are really nice brackets! I wish I could have gotten something like that. I had no idea mine were going to be so bulky. My ceramic ones aren't any less visible than the metal ones, imo.

Denise I've been able to compare both types of brackets and your's have a lower profile than Lauralea, which usually means they're more comfortable. The main difference between these two types of brackets, is that your's has a metal door/clip.

They have damon clears available in Canada and USA, however they have been only made available under limited release. Fortunatly by ortho was granted one of these trials, and im thankfull for it. I would ask your ortho, sometimes they know that they will be getting them, and waiting a few weeks to months would be well worth it, depending on how you feel about asthetics.
Hope this helps, and good luck with your treatment! updated pics to come.
