Hello all,
So my last appointment was interesting.
I had a Pan xray to see my root movement, and so far the ortho is happy with that.
He actually didnt seem to pleased with how quick my teeth were moving, im not sure about this one. He said he didnt expect them to move this quick, and that we are ahead of the ballgame. He also said that we are looking about taking them off in the next few visits (4-5 months??)
He did shape the teeth a little, I have very round teeth, so he sortof squared them down a bit.

Well also got figure 8'ed on the top 6, not quite sure what this is supost to do, but he also ordered a much heavy and odd looking wire for the top...its like its rectangular instead of being square...any idea what this is about?
The bottom also got a new wire, i think its a 14 or 16, not 100% sure, really gota ask more questions however I was REALLY tired after working the night before.
anyhow I dont have much more to say..later
thanks

Fantastic that your teeth are doing all the right things Lauralea and great your ortho had you get a pan xray, as this is the way to check how the roots of the teeth are progressing (usually slower than the exposed tooth) and also to check for root reabsorption, which can be an issue if teeth move quickly.

The wiring of your teeth is to keep them together. This means that they're where they need to be in relation to each other and they now need to stay there.

Your new archwire will engage the tooth movement needed in a specific way. Rectangular archwires are often used to correct the placement of the root of the teeth, by tipping the teeth. Check with your ortho about what's being done ... as he's the person to explain these processes.

All the best with the finishing of your teeth going to plan!
