I went to my 11th adjustment today and my ortho was happy about my gaps being closed! Now he is going to work on closing my open bite on the right side. He put a thicker wire on top (yay....) and made some kinks in my upper and lower wire to try and bring my teeth together. My upper teeth should come down a little and my lower teeth need to come up a little. I hope these wires work their magic fast!

I had a full day of appointments yesterday! My Orthodontist and Dentist are 10 miles away from each other so you can just imagine how much driving I had to do:

Appointment 1: Orthodontist - Get power chain and wires removed.
Appointment 2: Dentist - X-Rays, Stain removal, cleaning, fluoride treatment
Appointment 3: Orthodontist - Get power chain replaced and wires put back in

It's only been 2 weeks and I can see and feel a difference in my bite. Teeth are now touching that weren't touching before! I was wondering what my ortho had planned when he was tweaking my wire. Awesome! Even though my bite is INFINITELY better than before I had braces, he still wants to bring my lower teeth down more, which may require a wire change or something else. I might not be in my last wires now. Here are some pics!

That's right folks, my ortho FINALLY told me I can stop wearing rubber bands!! Well technically his words were "You can stop wearing rubber bands for now," but I'll take it! He wants to try and close up my gaps and overbite. He even tweaked my wire to straighten my upper teeth. He wants me to come in more often, about every 6 weeks, to get my power chain replaced so my gaps can close. I have a crap ton of gaps in my upper teeth. I mean literally, ...

Okay so basically my treatment as been boringly uneventful. I guess that's what happens when you get close to your de-banding date right?? (At least I hope I'm close!) I think my ortho is trying to perfect my midline, and I have seen definite improvement since a few weeks ago. Shoot, I better see improvement since I've been wearing my rubber bands like my life depends on it! Lets take a look

Well one year and a week has gone by and my 7th adjustment is done. My ortho says my teeth are straight, my bite looks good, and my debanding date will depend on how strict I wear my Class 2 rubberbands! He said I am way ahead of schedule (based on their records my original debanding date was Nov 1, 2012). So basically the more I wear my rubberbands, the sooner my braces come off! Woohoo! I think he is just trying to fix my midline. Just a guess, I didn't ...

So as I was eating some Sweet Potato pie on Thanksgiving (omg it was so good) I started to chew on something HARD. I thought it was something in the pie, but when I took it out I realized it was my molar bracket! It broke... from eating pie... WHAT?

Then yesterday I was at the Raider vs Bears game (go Raiders!) I was eating cotton candy, and again I was chewing on something hard. I though it was just a hard part of cotton candy because when I took it out of my mouth it was blue. I ...

I thought it would be kind of cool to compare pictures of how my teeth looked before braces and a year after braces (well almost a year... 50 weeks later).

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to my braces! I can't believe it's been a year already... wow does time fly. I took the time to write a small letter to my braces in honor of this day: http://dswiz.blogspot.com/2011/11/ha...niversary.html (I am a weirdo, I know lol).

I sure hope I don't have another anniversary and my braces come off in less than a year! Here's hoping!

Guess who is in their finishing wires?? ME!! Finally my last wires! I swear I have had about 5 or 6 different sets of wires so far during my treatment. It feels great to hit this kind of milestone in my treatment. My orthodontist was very happy with the progress of my teeth and said that my bottom teeth have really opened up and my bite was looking great. My upper teeth are covering 50% of my bottom teeth unlike before I had braces where my upper teeth covered 100% of my bottom teeth. I am still ...

Well folks, after 3 days I can officially say that my "fang" is G-O-N-E! It was actually gone after about 24 hours which was kind of amazing! My bite feels much better now and I can bring my lower jaw forward for a normal bite! Woohoo!!!

Today I went in for bracket repositioning and x-rays. My ortho and the assistants were impressed with my tooth and root alignment and I only needed to get my upper central incisor and upper premolar brackets repositioned. My "Fang" is FINALLY going to be fixed!!

I'm still in Class II elastic configuration but my ortho said that I am ahead of schedule and the longer I wear them the sooner I can get my brackets off! I am wearing ...

Holy progress Batman!! My lower wire has seriously been working some overtime. I have some new pics posted on my blog: http://dswiz.blogspot.com. If you compare my new pic with 5 weeks ago, or even 2 weeks ago you can see a major difference! This wire is seriously amazing.
