I went to my 11th adjustment today and my ortho was happy about my gaps being closed! Now he is going to work on closing my open bite on the right side. He put a thicker wire on top (yay....) and made some kinks in my upper and lower wire to try and bring my teeth together. My upper teeth should come down a little and my lower teeth need to come up a little. I hope these wires work their magic fast!

Went to my adjustment today (15 minutes late and I literally RAN out my door lol) and my teeth are "almost there" according to my orthodontist. Good news... I guess? Here's what you've been waiting for... pictures!

I had a full day of appointments yesterday! My Orthodontist and Dentist are 10 miles away from each other so you can just imagine how much driving I had to do:

Appointment 1: Orthodontist - Get power chain and wires removed.
Appointment 2: Dentist - X-Rays, Stain removal, cleaning, fluoride treatment
Appointment 3: Orthodontist - Get power chain replaced and wires put back in

That's right folks, my ortho FINALLY told me I can stop wearing rubber bands!! Well technically his words were "You can stop wearing rubber bands for now," but I'll take it! He wants to try and close up my gaps and overbite. He even tweaked my wire to straighten my upper teeth. He wants me to come in more often, about every 6 weeks, to get my power chain replaced so my gaps can close. I have a crap ton of gaps in my upper teeth. I mean literally, ...

Well one year and a week has gone by and my 7th adjustment is done. My ortho says my teeth are straight, my bite looks good, and my debanding date will depend on how strict I wear my Class 2 rubberbands! He said I am way ahead of schedule (based on their records my original debanding date was Nov 1, 2012). So basically the more I wear my rubberbands, the sooner my braces come off! Woohoo! Guess who is in their finishing wires?? ME!! Finally my last wires! I swear I have had about 5 or 6 different sets of wires so far during my treatment. It feels great to hit this kind of milestone in my treatment. My orthodontist was very happy with the progress of my teeth and said that my bottom teeth have really opened up and my bite was looking great. My upper teeth are covering 50% of my bottom teeth unlike before I had braces where my upper teeth covered 100% of my bottom teeth. I am still ...

Well folks, after 3 days I can officially say that my "fang" is G-O-N-E! It was actually gone after about 24 hours which was kind of amazing! My bite feels much better now and I can bring my lower jaw forward for a normal bite! Woohoo!!!

Since my ortho put a stronger wire on my lower teeth, they have made much progress in the past 3 weeks!! I can see and feel a difference in my bite and it is pretty awesome! As my lower teeth get lower my bite gets better and better. Though during this process my chewing takes longer because I still have bite blocks on my molars =/ I have a picture in my blog: dswiz.blogspot.com

This appointment was filled with lots of good news! I went to my appointment this morning and they changed my lower wire out for a stronger one. WHAT? I thought I had a super strong one in my mouth last time?? They want to really move my lower teeth down so they aren't sitting behind my upper teeth (look at pictures on my blog: dswiz.blogspot.com). Awesome!! My teeth are already sore and I love it!

They also said that they are going to reposition my brackets next appointment because ...

So I went to my 3rd appointment today! Here's some updates:

1. I got my clear power chain changed for a new one. My other one turned yellow from mustard (yuck!).
2. I'm still going to be using Class II configuration rubber bands at least for the next 8 weeks. Yay...
3. I finally got brackets on my last 4 molars!

...BUT, when I ate my breakfast I bit down on one of my new brackets and it BROKE OFF!! No bueno! Obviously I freaked out and luckily they had me come back in today to ...
