Totally random but... Where did everyone go??! Seems like all the "regulars" have left the forum :-(

I guess that's what happens after you get your braces off haha ;-)

  2. Week 31

    by , 06-08-2011 at 04:00 PM
My lower brackets are moving back up behind my upper teeth again! They were making such good progress before my new wire 2 weeks ago!

I'm sure it's because of teeth moving that I can't see but there was so much progress the last week before my adjustment that I thought there would be more progress rather than regression. :(

  4. Power Chain staining!

    by , 04-14-2011 at 05:25 PM
So as I finished eating my sandwich and picking the remnant out from my brackets, I look in the mirror and my friggin clear power chain has stained a yellow-ish color!! All I've been eating the past couple days are sandwiches and salad. Do you think the mustard in my sandwiches could stain my clear power chain? Any tips on removing the yellowish hue? It looks so ugly, ugh.

  5. Week 21 - Rubberbands!

    by , 03-30-2011 at 01:29 PM

Yup this little bag means that I am officially on rubber bands to fix my overbite. It's in the classic Class II configuration, from my upper canine to my 1st bottom molar on both sides. Holy pressure Batman! I haven't ever felt pressure like this in my mouth. EVER. And to add on to that, they added a clear power chain to my top 6 teeth to close some small gaps. It's pretty cool ...

  6. Oh snaps!! (Week 18)

    by , 03-11-2011 at 04:26 PM
So as I'm picking out remnants of my work pizza party, I noticed how a small gap is forming between my upper left central and lateral incisors! I didn't even think I'd have a gap there!! It's funny how your teeth move to get where they need to go.

Other than that I don't see any big differences like I used to when I first got my braces. On my upper teeth one side is still higher and the front of my lower teeth are still hiding behind my upper teeth when I bite down. No big changes ...

  7. Week 14

    by , 02-10-2011 at 01:32 PM
Wow I can't believe it's been 14 weeks since I've had braces! I had my first follow-up appointment last week and they put new wires on my top and bottom brackets. They said that the wire is really thick and their goal now is to start fixing my bite. If you look at the picture below, my upper teeth completely cover my lower teeth right now, so they are trying to move my lower teeth down. And I get elastics at my next appointment in 7 weeks to move my bottom teeth forward! I can't wait until my bottom ...

  8. Week 11

    by , 01-24-2011 at 07:02 PM
Well my first follow-up appointment is next Tues. Feb 2. 3 months went buy and I cannot wait for that day! I'm just excited for what is going to happen next :) I have actually stopped paying so much attention to my teeth because they are basically straight and I can eat pretty much anything now, even with my molar buildup. I'm pretty sure they will be adding more molar buildup to my teeth next week because my overbite is far from fixed yet.

I'm curious if I will be using elastic bands ...

  9. Week 6

    by , 12-20-2010 at 03:13 PM
Made it to week 6 and I am noticing that my bite is changing! My upper teeth are hitting my lower teeth with my natural bite, so I need to push back my lower teeth to bite down.

Also my top wire is really straight when compared to when I first got my braces in. My brackets are really irritating different areas of my mouth now so the wax is back! My lower bracket is also curved now. I'm still trying to figure out the movement process of my teeth :D

  10. Week 4 changes!

    by , 12-07-2010 at 12:57 PM
Okay so I take back my last post about not seeing any progress in my teeth. I have noticed a huge difference! My top teeth were really slanted before and now my top teeth have really leveled out! :) You can tell what I am talking about in my pictures below It makes me happy to see progress!

Thanks guys for telling me to compare my pictures! I usually do compare pictures, but I was initially looking for tooth alignment rather than overall appearance. This is great!

  11. Week 4

    by , 12-06-2010 at 07:16 PM
Visually not much has changed with my teeth since my last update. My bite has changed slightly and I think either my top teeth are moving down or my bottom teeth are moving up. My upper teeth keep hitting my bottom brackets more often.

I'm sure my teeth have moved in different areas, but I just can't really tell. Patience is a virtue :D

  12. Week 2

    by , 11-21-2010 at 03:43 AM
Here I am in week 2 of my braces journey and you can tell that there was a little bit of movement with my lateral incisors! They've moved back a a little bit and look a lot straighter. I can't wait to see how they will look in two more weeks!

  13. Day 11

    by , 11-16-2010 at 05:58 PM
It's day 11 and the overall pressure is pretty much gone. My teeth are still sore on my front teeth, so biting down hurts slightly. But I have learned how to chew better with the cement bite blocks in, so I can expand my palette to soft meats and pastas :) I have lost some weight, but I'm too afraid to go on the scale to prove that fact lol. I kind of miss the pain. It made me feel that the braces are doing work and not just sitting in my mouth doing nothing.

I will take some pictures ...

  14. Day 1

    by , 11-05-2010 at 08:45 PM
I got my braces fitted this morning! Ceramic on top, regular Damon metal on the bottom. I wanted all ceramic but because of my deep bite they said that ceramics on my bottom would wear my upper teeth down more than it already is. They wanted to prevent that from happening when I bite down.

Also to prevent me from biting into my bottom brackets, they put a bite block (blue cement) onto my lower molars to open my bite. I'm not sure if they will wear down before my next appointment in ...

  15. Before Braces

    by , 11-05-2010 at 10:24 AM
Here are the images of my teeth before braces. They're relatively straight, but my two front teeth have started to revert back because I stopped using my Invisalign trays, and probably because of my upper wisdom teeth (which I got removed last year). Anyways here we go!
