Katy Perry in Braces! Also, Colored Ligs!

I'm not really a big music video fan, but I had heard some rumblings about braces in the new Katy Peryr video for Last Friday Night, so I had to check it out. (!!) Not only is she in braces, but she's also in full on head gear!

After watching the video a few times (go ahead, you know you want to), and giggling at how adorable Katy Perry is, I got to thinking: would it really be so bad if I had colorful rubber bands on my braces? Yes, I did go with the ceramic braces to minimize my 'braces look' ... but look how cute she is! Plus, I'm only going to be in braces for so long. Shouldn't I try it at least once? even if it's only for a few weeks?

I had an appointment last night, but the five week gap between appointments (and my impending vacation) scared me back into clear elastics (plus my bf didn't seem to keen on me looking even more like a 12 year old) ... but the thought still looms. Maybe once I'm out of these root-moving spinner things, I'll give it a go! Maybe!

What do you guys think? Pink? Purple? So many options!
Have any of you had colored ligs with ceramic braces? If so, I'd love to see pictures!

    Hey cool. Thanks for bringing this to our attention! The video was pretty funny -- Kenny G was my fave cameo.

    Yes try color you only live once, etc, I "heart" pink and blue, maybe a metallic if the Ortho has.

    YES!! I have had colored ligs with my ceramic brackets. I started with a color called Plum Crazy, which is a dark purple. I really liked them, and best of all... THEY DON'T STAIN! I've also tried Lavendar, which looked more pink-ish, to me. I liked those, too, and they also didn't stain. Give it a shot! I agree that it was probably a good idea not to do it before a vacation; in case you didn't like them, you'd feel self-conscious. If you want, you can browse through my blogs to see pics. (Plum Crazy was on 3/24/11, and Lavendar was on 5/20/11) You don't have to read thru them all, If you don't want to. You can just look at the pics.

    P.S. I almost forgot: I also tried Screamin' Pink, which is very bright pink. I had them changed a couple days later because I looked like I had lipstick smeared across my teeth. Yuck!

    I think i might go for it, once I'm in the 'settling' stages of braces, where I don't have any extra hardware on my teeth.

    I usually just get silver but I have tried pink, purple, and blue. The assistant always tells me the silver ones are the strongest one. But I usually use colors when I am on summer vacation and silver when I am back at work. Have fun choosing your colors!!!
