Week 18 + Progress Pictures

I had my fourth adjustment on Tuesday. Good progress throughout. My ortho actually said that it looks like we are ahead of schedule (he wants to take some pictures next time to make sure that my teeth aren't moving TOO fast) and I might actually be out of them by this time next year. For those keeping track, that puts me TWO MONTHS ahead of schedule. We'll have to wait and see if it lasts, but for now, I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
My top and bottom teeth were also finally deemed "edge to edge" so I no longer have to wear those pesky rubber-bands during the day - only to bed. This makes me very happy, but has been hard to get used to. I've already forgotten to wear them once! I will need to make a better effort to work it into my bedtime routine.
However, I wasn't able to leave my adjustment appointment without the addition of some new "equipment". My ortho wants to get moving on closing my extraction gaps, so he put on these extra e-link bands (I think that's what they called them) across the gaps. They are some sort of power-chain-esk elastics that stretch over the wire and will pull those teeth together. They were annoying to get on (to say the least) and have made my molars pretty sore. Advil FTW!
I also asked about the gap between my bottom two front teeth, which has gotten bigger, and was told not to worry about it, and that it would be fixed later. *phew*
Progress pictures:
The gap between my bottom two front teeth cracks me up.
Close up of extra bands setup. It goes from the banded molar all the way to the loop in the archwire. Lots of extra ligature-like bands!
