Week 39 - The Swap Out

Thankfully I only had to wear those crazy wires for one week. My ortho ordered the new torquing wires, and I went in last Thursday to have them swapped out. Right now I'm rocking: A new rectangular wire, an extra thinner wire (that you can see twisted around my brackets) and the two torquing springs on my front teeth. That's a lot of metal!
These torquing springs are so much more comfortable, and less "pokey" than my old setup. Much less discomfort in the long run.
However, this getup was pretty painful going on, and for the first three days of wear. The extra thinner wire (the one that wraps around my brackets) caused a lot of pressure going on. And if that wasn't bad enough, my ortho tightened it on the one side until I couldn't stand it. THEN we had to put on the torquing springs and the rubber-bands on each bracket. By the time it was over, I was feeling a lot of pressure. Up until now, I've been very lucky, in that I haven't been in much pain, usually just some mild discomfort. I had to load up on Advil this time around to be able to eat!
I know you guys wanted to see the new torquing wires, so here they are:
