Hi guys, I have not posted in ages, basically beacuse I did not want to depress everyone with how much I hate my braces experience. But today I think it just might help me to vent a bit of my frustration, even if no one reads it. So please forgive my negativity if you continue to read this post

I hate my braces. I hate the way they feel in my mouth. I hate the way my smile looks. I hate that I cannot sink my teeth into food properly. I hate that I am not even three months ...

  2. Day 4 update

    by , 12-23-2010 at 11:44 PM
Well, it has been a couple of days braced now and I can confirm that I have had the full spectrum of reactions and emotions! On day 2 I had my "what have I done" day. It was awful. My braces felt so big in my mouth and I have little bits of metal sticking into my tongue from the brackets on my molars, that made talking, swallowing, eating, drinking, EVERYTHING painful. They look very insignificant actually so I am really pleased. ...

Hey again everyone. Well trip to the ortho yesterday to have the spacers put in. That was kind of like she was doing some sort of weird threading procedure which didn't hurt at all and took about five minutes. Today there is a slight ache where it feels like the bands have moved my teeth a tiny bit. I supposed I will get used to that! Might take some ibuprofen later if it gets worse.

In other news, this time next week I will be in braces. HOW THE HECK DID THAT HAPPEN??! It ...

  5. The Beginning

    by , 11-23-2010 at 02:01 AM
Hello and welcome to my journey in adult orthodontics! I first found out that I needed braces in early 2007. For the past three years I have mastered orthodontic procrastination (ie. doing anything BUT starting my orthodontic work!). Imagine, if I'd started back then, it might all be over by now! Anyway, my story begins where many do - thumbsucking! Followed by some over-zealous dental extracting in my junior years, leaving me with gaps and an overbite. My treatment plan was finalised about ...
