Anxious to get started!

Okay, so here's my story. It will probably sound familiar, actually, from what I've read on this forum.
I have 10mm overjet, complete overbite, class I on the right side but class II on the left side, and pretty significant crowding, especially on the bottom. My family couldn't afford braces and I did try to go it on my own in college, but was told that I would need jaw surgery so I didn't pursue it any further.
I am now 42 and can't stand it anymore. I never smile for photos because of my teeth. I am self-conscious around clients. It's well past time to have something done.
My general dentist was quite enthusiastic about Invisalign and said it would not be problem. I just had a feeling my case was too complicated, especially given what I had been told in college. I went to 4 orthos, 3 who are Invisalign premier providers. The one who didn't do Invisalign told me flat out it wouldn't work, but I believed it was because he didn't do Invisalign. He was the only one who took my insurance, though. The rest all said that I would be better off with regular braces, too, but they would do part Invisalign, part metal, but really recommended just doing regular braces. Interesting that my regular dentist thought it would be easy with Invisalign. Also interesting that none of them recommended jaw surgery!
I also had some pretty candid discussions about fees and insurance, and a couple were very nice to look over my list of providers and they both said to go to the first guy I saw (without knowing I had seen him already). Does great work, they said.
So, after thinking it over I went back to the first ortho and we are getting ready to start. I just had my x-rays and impressions and I will go back in a month to get the braces.
I am very excited to begin the journey. I waited far too long.
