I seem to be adjusting pretty well. I used a fair amount of wax on the bands and on the couple of brackets with hooks, but I haven't used any on those today and all seems okay. Front teeth are sore but tolerable.

I'm getting used to eating again. I found grapes have been great...I need to use just enough force to get them to burst open that I'm working the jaw but not enough to cause pain.

The only thing I didn't expect was that my tongue was going to have some irritation from the little tabby things on the lingual side of the brackets. I guess they use that tab to help push them on? They are scratchy little buggers. I put some wax on them today and that helped a lot.

Definitely keep those 'wings' on the bands covered with wax until your tongue recovers. You can ask your ortho to flatten them, as that will mean you don't have to worry about them. Some ortho's snip them off patients, who find them really annoying.

Good that you're finding eating a little better. Make sure you try chewing as often as you can during the day and hopefully it won't be long till you'll find you've returned to eating as you did before your treatment started.
