So yesterday was day number one of roughly 570 days! That to me is a bit scary and the thought of wearing this for that long is a bit daunting SO I have decided to take it one day at a time and not focus on the future.

Everything is fine and I have no complaints but the dentist also told me that the first two trays wont do much to my teeth. I can feel the pressure on my teeth but most of the time I dont even realise that I am wearing them. Oh and must mention that I only have the top aligners at the moment, I dont start with the bottom until tray 10.

As for getting them in and out I am getting better at it. Yesterday I started to have a few panic attacks cos they got stuck half way out and it was hurting my teeth but now I have found that I need to wiggle them a bit at the front and that helps heaps. I find it hard to take them out cos there is nothing to hold onto. I use my finger nails and loosen one "tooth" at a time. Getting them in is fine. The dentist told me to put in the back first but I have found that putting the front in first helps better.

The only one thing I can complain about is the weird way my teeth feel when I now have the aligners out. They feel wobbly and a bit tender and I must say I do not look forward to taking them out to eat. I feel like I have to eat very gently in case they fall out!! Hopefully this will go away in a few days.

As for my diet! It works wonders, I have hardly had anything to eat today just the normal b'fast and lunch! Which for me is amazing cos Im a constant snacker. The cleaning routine just takes too long to do it more than three times a day.

The dentist told me that my saliva glands will work overtime for a while but its not too bad apart from the spit bubbles that accumulate on the inside of the aligners. Also I am finding I have really dry lips which I guess isnt too much of a problem.

Oh and lastly I am happy to say that I dont have a lisp what so ever and I am talking the same as I always do so unless I tell people I have them in I dont think anyone will notice! Yah!

It's great that you're working out what works best for you Luvmekids!

Make sure you eat well, rinse your mouth well and brush gently. It's important that you take extra care of your whole body during this time, as it's not just your teeth that are affected by these changes.

Dry lips are often associated with orthodontic work and it's a good idea to give them some extra attention with lip balm. Having moist lips, not only looks good, but makes it easier for your lips to move over the aligners.

It reads like your first set of aligners are doing heaps, even if your dentist didn't expect them to. Good luck with your movement ... and here's to progress!
