So, here I am writing in my very own "braces" blog. If you had of told me that I'd be doing this a few months ago I would have laughed in your face! And now here I am counting down to Thursday when I have my first tray given to me and from then on my world will change. I know for myself that having had crooked teeth all my life (Im 34) it has held me back in sooo many ways, from making friends to going for better jobs because I was so self conscious of my smile.

So why did I wait to get them fixed I hear you ask? Well for most of my teenage and adult life I have had an extreme fear of dentists and totally avoided them at any cost UNTIL a few months back my wisdom tooth broke and became infected and I had no choice but to visit a dentist. Lucky for me I found a fantastic dentist who was really supportive and now with 8 fillings and four wisdom teeth taken out behind me I decided if I've gone that far I may as well go all the way and have my dream come true of having a beautiful smile!

So here I am, I have had the impressions done, had the clincheck and now am booked in for this Thursday to have my first Invisalign tray put in and Im looking forward to it with a little apprehension as well cos its a big commitment I am going to have to endure over the next 15 months but will constantly remind myself of the end result.

Have decided to start my diet the same day too! Seems like its a good time to eat less by the sounds of it. Im a constant snacker through out the day so cutting back the snacks will be a test in itself for me!!
