Well I made it through my appointment even though I was freaking out about the IPR because I did not know what to expect and the attachment thing had me a bit apprehensive as well as I was not sure where or how many I was getting.... So I walk into the surgery and sit down with the assistant and I asked her how many attachments would be done today and she said "good question, Im not sure" (great start!) anyway she looked at a piece of paper and said to me "6 buttons ...
Well I am now made it to the end of the first week of my second tray. I guess if I dont think about it to much it has gone fairly quickly. Im nearly up to tray 3! Only 35 to go after that! So last Thursday when I first put the next tray in I had a bit of a panic cos I could not get it on my teeth! I thought maybe they had made a mistake and I'd have to go and get some more sent but after a few pushes it slipped on and we were away! So all in all it was a fairly good experience, a ...
Back again, thought I'd give an update on how I have settled in to my new Invisalign life! Well in three days it will be time to change to tray 2! Very exciting, I even briefly thought I'd pop them in tonight just to check them out as I cannot see any difference between tray 1 and 2 but then thought that that would mean I would have to have tray 2 in for 2 weeks and 3 days so changed my mind. I can wait!! So all pressure has gone and I even sometimes forget that I am ...
So tomorrow will be my first week in Invisalign and must say it has been a long week with all the life adjustments with food and cleaning habits but I can definately see myself getting use to the new routine. All my fears and apprehension has now gone and I am looking forward to the next year and a half and the good thing is that my two front teeth will basically be straight by November so that's my first goal. Trays are still a bit hard to get out but Im sure its just ...
Its now 4 days in and while I know it is meant to get easier to remove the aligners I am still having trouble. Its to the point where I actually dread having to remove them because its actually quite stressful to do so. I think its because of the way my front two top teeth sit, one sits forward and one sits back and getting the tray over both of these puts tremendous pressure on them and its painful. Having said that I guess I really have no choice but get use to it! I did ask the ...
Now its day three and for some strange reason I actually prefer to have them in than out. My teeth feel more comfortable to be snug than "loose". Didnt think I would be saying that! So anyway, we went out for lunch today to all you can eat buffet. So I get there after firstly making sure I had my little cosmetic bag full of floss, brush and paste as well as my Invisalign holder (will now have to go and buy myself a new handbag to accommodate all the stuff I now have to carry ...
So yesterday was day number one of roughly 570 days! That to me is a bit scary and the thought of wearing this for that long is a bit daunting SO I have decided to take it one day at a time and not focus on the future. Everything is fine and I have no complaints but the dentist also told me that the first two trays wont do much to my teeth. I can feel the pressure on my teeth but most of the time I dont even realise that I am wearing them. Oh and must mention that I only have the ...
So, here I am writing in my very own "braces" blog. If you had of told me that I'd be doing this a few months ago I would have laughed in your face! And now here I am counting down to Thursday when I have my first tray given to me and from then on my world will change. I know for myself that having had crooked teeth all my life (Im 34) it has held me back in sooo many ways, from making friends to going for better jobs because I was so self conscious of my smile. So why did ...
