I have my braces on for six months and I'm not having the best of luck. I keep breaking brackets. But, I have noticed that my brackets started to pop off after I had my oral surgery. I don't know if the brackets keep breaking because my teeth are trying to move quickly to close the gap from the missing teeth. Maybe, it can be from me eatting the wrong foods. I don't understand why the last bracket broke.

I just got my 6 month adjustment. The ortho put a heavy wire on the bottom. After, I waited a few hours to eat or drink because my teeth were sore. When I finally ate. I made sure to eat soft food and stick to the foods that the ortho allows you to eat. I took a piece of soft turkey that I had cut up into a small piece. I went to chew and my bracket on the right side bottom next to the spacer broke. I was so mad because I was just at the ortho. What do I have to do for a bracket not to break?

They may not be letting the glue set properly or it could be a number of other things. I'd call your ortho again or, depending on how far your are into your treatment, call and talk to some other orthos.

Ya, I've had braces for 6 months too (and have also been careful about my food) and not a single bracket has broken. That tells me your problems are likely related to how the brackets were put on (as justjenn alluded to). Definitely call them! That's unacceptable. Good luck and maybe stick to yogurt for a while

I wish I could stick to yogurt. but, I can't stand the smell or taste of it. I get sick when i can smell it
