So I got my invisalign on September 15. I have 10 attachments: 7 on my upper teeth and 3 on my bottom teeth (which surprised me because my top teeth are straight, but turns out theyre realigning my bite)

So I get them on, no problems... until i went to eat... I had to cut my grilled cheese into tiny peices due to the pain i felt and my teeth felt loose and it took 15 minutes to take them off. i was really starting to think this was a bad idea

That night when i got back to school (im in grad school an hour and a half away from my orthodontist) an attachment popped off when i took them off to eat dinner... So I had to drive an hour and a half home the next day to have it put back on. I was not a happy camper

Two weeks passed and all was well. They become comfortable and i hardly noticed them. I was down to 20 seconds for taking my aligners off... And then came the dreadful day of putting in aligner 2.

So I put it in and it didn't fit right on my back teeth and kept popping off. By the next day that was no longer a problem and it fit my back teeth nicely. There was no pain in my teeth, just a lot of pressure on them.

2 days into this set i noticed food was starting to get stuck between the aligner and the tooth but it came out easily with mouthwash. Well one of those 2 attachments popped off 2 days into the aligner and later that night i noticed that another attachment was having the same food behind the attachment problem.

So this morning i go to the orthodontist. They replaced the one that popped off, the one food was getting stuck on, and one that seemed to be coming off a little bit.

So I am 2 and a half weeks into invisalign and have had 4 attachments replaced already. This is getting annoying

But so far, despite my attachment problems, i would still choose this over metal braces.

Great you are going to keep a blog mindlessswirl!

Shame you've had to get four attachments replaced, but hopefully that will be your last.

Remember never to eat when you have the aligners in, and be careful when flossing and cleaning around the attachments.

When changing to new aligners, for comfort, change them before going to bed, so you have your sleep time for your teeth to begin their adjustment.

    Good luck with your progress!
