The best appointment to date...

Today I had one the most impressive appointments with my ortho She first of all said that the tooth that was rotated is now completely in it's correct position and with some other 'tweaking' she is impressed with it's movement.

She also took off one of my brackets on the bottom tooth because it is just slightly off and for the first time in more than a year I saw a 'naked' tooth and MY GOODNESS that tooth looked huge in my mouth, lol. She moved it to a new position so that she could straighten it out to be flush with the rest of the teeth on the bottom. So here we are with a brand new bracket on my bottom tooth. She also gave me a new powerchain that is with just a wire and it's like she took the wires and 'braided' it around each tooth on my bottom braces and then put a thicker wire on the bottom.
On the tops though she put wire braided powerchains on the two front teeth and a powerchain on the rotated tooth to put it in it's final position.

The best news of the day from my ortho was that she anticipates maybe getting me all done before the end of the summer *crossing fingers* and also that she is so proud of how clean my teeth are and how I am flossing and brushing.

She also confirmed what I suspected anyway... I will be getting three retainers when my teeth are all done... a 'permanent' retainer on my two front uppers and my hawley's on the rest of the top and bottom's.

Well I now am confirmed for a six week appointment instead of an eight week. I hope this is a good sign to come.

    Sounds like you had a fantastic appointment Michelle ... congrats!

    The wire being used like a powerchain is a great sign, as it's usually done when those teeth are where they need to be, as the wire 'holds' them, rather than moves them as a powerchain does.

    Here's to you getting naked teeth sooner than expected!

    I had a bracket that had the little 'teeth' (hooks?) break on it, so they replaced the bracket and I remember looking at that tooth thinking, holy crap that's a big tooth! Then I couldn't quit rubbing it with my tongue, it felt so smooth and nice, I was reluctant to let her put a new bracket on haha. That's so awesome that you're taking such good care of your teeth, I hope you have nekkid teeth by the end of summer 2011!!

    Thanks Sunny! I hope so too I was wondering what would happen when I got to that stage with the wire powerchain. I now am excited but now it is hard as ever to floss my bottom teeth because of the wire powerchain, but oh well I just do the best I can with the brushing and flossing.

    Yes Denise EXACTLY what I was thinking, I even asked if that was a normal looking tooth because it looked HUGE! My ortho's assistant just giggled and was like yes, I was actually kinda amazed at how clean it looked considering I was like umm maybe I should brush more, lol!

    Here to hoping for 'nekked' teeth in 2011! I hope yours comes out then too!!!!
