I had my appointment with my ortho for the first time since I got my first set of powerchains. Yes I asked at least 16 questions to the assistant and to my ortho.

First question I asked was that I was noticing that my front gap isn't doing ANY movement which was pretty disheartening since the rest of my teeth have seen some improvement. She assured me that since I have a tooth on my upper right side that was rotated 90 degrees in the wrong direction that we have to turn it the right way. So she said not to worry with the space that we will have to finish the rotation and she didn't want to rush the front teeth and make the roots weak. ONE STEP BACK!!!!

Second question I asked was about my permanent retainer on my top front teeth??? She also said that most people who have a front gap they recommend a permanent retainer, some folks need it, and some don't she said we will have to see further down once everything else is done doing it's duty how they are reacting. TWO STEPS BACK!!!!!!

Third question I asked was how we were looking on the estimation for removal she said we are still on target if my teeth continue to move for a possible December or January disbanding date. ONE STEP FORWARD!!!!!

So now my top teeth are without a powerchain just a 16 wire and regular O-rings and nothing on the button on the inside of the 90 degree tooth. Bottom teeth have a new powerchain still with a 16 wire. I have already noticed more moving with the bottom teeth which it seems may definitely be finished before the top teeth. Next appointment is not for six weeks so that appointment will include a 18 wire, a new powerchain on the bottom, moving the band that is on the rotated tooth to a NEW position, taking the button off of the rotated tooth and doing some more interesting tweaking as my ortho called it. She informed me to make sure to tack down at least an hour and to take some ibuprophen before I come and ready myself for a smoothie after my appointment.

Ah the joys of Orthodontics and the pretty teeth that they help to achieve. Tomorrow is my 11th month anniversary and yes it has almost been an entire year since I went from to I am stll loving it.

You have a positive attitude and I'm sure that's helping you!

It's good that your ortho is being so careful with how your teeth are being moved. This shows a real professional.

Good luck with your progress continuing well to your early release!
