Wow that's a lot to have to think about Pearly. Where your told of the pros and cons of having upper jaw surgery? Sometimes this can help a person decide whether to go with surgery or not.

For me, my underbite is dental, which means surgery will not necessarily make my results stable. If I'd had insurance, surgery would have meant that my treatment time would have been a lot faster. Would I have chosen surgery for that reason? I'm not real sure ... mostly coz I never had to make that decision. I do see the results of patients after surgery, and most times they're amazing!!!

Talk to your ortho more about the what ifs ... what if I do, what if I don't etc.

i didnt really ask the ortho if i do and dont. But my fiance made a lovely point of how we get older and our skin thins and our bones jut out a little it will be come more noticable as i age. isnt he just fab?
But yes good point i ll need to ask at the next appointment

I don't envy your making that decision but I think you should go for it. My dentist said the longer I waited the more it would hurt too

I'm looking for a good dentist in the Chicago area that can fix my underbite without surgery. Can anyone help me out with some information?
