    Fantastic news Pearly!

First ... be positive and make sure you're active about making sure your mouth is well looked after and won't be sore ... and hopefully you won't even have much (or any) discomfort.

Second ... don't brush your teeth too often, as you risk damaging the enamel and your gums. When you brush, use a toothbrush with a small soft head and only brush gently for a short time. Flossing is only necessary once a day ... and make sure you get your ortho to show you how to floss properly!

What you are best to do frequently is ... drink water ... it's great for your bodies hydration and also great for keeping your teeth clean. When eating, drinking water helps rinse food away from your mouth, and then the use of a toothpick to clean the food away from your brackets. Also a flouride mouthrinse twice a day is great for the health of your teeth.

    Good luck!

yay - good luck with your braces. even if it is uncomfortable - remember that it's only temporary and focus on the longer term outcome!

    All the best.

Congratulations! I'm new here but have been reading for months as my dental work was completed. Got my aligners yesterday and a bit uncomfortable but a very happy person. Looking forward to the progress.
