1st wire change

Yesterday was my 15th day in braces when I was scheduled to go in for the 1st wire change. Unbeknownst to me, I popped off/broke 2 brackets on the premolars on top on both the left and right side. As I sat in the chair waiting for the adhesive to set in order to get the 2 brackets replaced, I kept thinking about what I did cause the brackets to break.
I must have been thinking aloud when the technician told me not to worry as a number of things could have caused the brackets to pop off. She explained that possibly the adhesive did not bond properly to the teeth in question and to keep in mind that one of them had a crown on it. She also said it could have been the amount of pressure I put on it but not to worry as it is quite normal for this to happen. Whew!
The technician prepped my two teeth and the orthondontist popped in to check my teeth and replaced the two brackets. They were both kind enough to comment that they could tell that I was flossing and cleaning appropriately.
Once the new brackets were on, the new wire was put in and this time around, my molars were included. I seem to have less rubbing on the inside of lips than I did over the past 2 weeks except in 2 new spots. Oh well ... I'm already very friendly with the waxing.
I did not take any painkillers before I went to have the wires changed and lucky me, I felt no discomfort or pain to the point where I have to take anything. I guess my pain tolerance level is high. Don't get me wrong, I do feel some pressure which I am guessing is that the teeth are moving.
If you had asked me 2 weeks ago about the flossing, I would have looked at you and rolled my eyes in frustration. Now, thanks to all the advice and encouragement on this site, I have gotten pretty quick at moving the floss around - almost as quick as I used to when I did not have the braces on.
The ortho and the technicians are so gentle and I am so thankful that I am in great hands.
