Nothing much to report here - I feel a slight bit of pressure (not pain) and the spaces between my upper teeth seem to be closing in. Other than that, I am wasting no time and am eating quite normal.

I went to see my periodontist this past Monday since I am about 4 1/2 months away from taking the braces off. I decided I will do the tooth implant on the lower left in the first week of January 2011 so I may take advantage of my Flexible Spending (here in the US) for 2011. I pretty much used up by allotted amount for 2010 already.

I will see my periodontist around mid-December 2010 for a cat scan to check on the lower left jaw to make sure the bone in the area of the implant is fine. If so, I will have the implant done 3 weeks later. If not, we will do a bone graft and as soon as that heals, the implant.

Once the braces are off in mid-late November 2010, my ortho will also put in a retainer on the bottom left where I have a tooth missing until I am ready for the implant.

It's the July 4th - Independence Day holiday here tomorrow and a lot of folks here are off on Monday as well so I have a nice long weekend.
