Today the rubber bumper came off again (second time). Hopefully I can see the ortho tomorrow to get the bumper replaced otherwise the inside of my cheek will be totally raw from the archwire rubbing into it.

How can I prevent the rubber bumper from coming off. It's over the archwire that runs between the space where I am missing a pre-molar and a molar).

So I got brave last night and bit into some soft meat and the upper right quadrant is doing better. I figure a couple more days and it will be much better.

The rubber bumper (I think that is what it is called) over the wire between one of my pre-molars and the first molar (missing one pre-molar in between came off yesterday so I had to pop into the ortho to get another one put on. There is just no way that I could tolerate the wire rubbing against the inside of my mouth. ...

Today was a better day as far as the sensitivity / tenderness when I bite down. I notice the teeth in the upper right quadrant seems to be more tender/sensitive than the rest of my teeth.

I hope this passes soon. Other than that the sores seem to have subsided in the original areas and I have been applying wax in the upper left quadrant to the molars.

One day at a time and plugging along.

Here I am thinking about pizza. When will I be able to eat pizza ...

I am experiencing sensitivity when I actually bite down on something but I guess I am back to the drawing board. I can only assume that this is the feeling I will have each time the wires are changed/adjusted. I tried biting into some very very soft bread last night and it was not fun. The sensitivity while momentary, reminded me that it only 36 hours since I had the wires changed. I guess I am impatient. But I say I'm trying to get back to normal eating as soon as possible as Sunny has advised ...

Yesterday was my 15th day in braces when I was scheduled to go in for the 1st wire change. Unbeknownst to me, I popped off/broke 2 brackets on the premolars on top on both the left and right side. As I sat in the chair waiting for the adhesive to set in order to get the 2 brackets replaced, I kept thinking about what I did cause the brackets to break.
