Wire change ... why did I open my mouth?

Today was my third wire change. Why did I have to ask when is the leveling going to be done? My ortho changed my wires to steel wires ... hopes this makes sense to those who know about the types of wires. The technician told me that it is highly likely that they will start moving the teeth around on my next visit on October 2. Oh joy!

So far so good as far as pain ... I guess I won't know until later.

Good luck with your new wires and I hope you don't have any pain

Sunny, Sorry about being incorrect again, but that just what my orthodontist told me. But I presume cases are all different.

Fantastic Phoenix ... sounds like your teeth are doing great!

Ajs ... there are a lot of different sizes in the circular archwires, the type that are used to loosen and align teeth. Some people only need circular archwires, but there are many more ... just in case your movement requires their use. Powerchains are more about closing gaps, sometimes to rotate teeth, but archwires do most of the positioning, along with some help from elastics. I'm guessing some orthos may use a short powerchain to help, if there's issues with teeth moving, but most don't for positioning, unless there's gaps involved.

Hopefully you won't need to buy shares in a pain relief company ... and you'll find that treatment can be mildly discomfort to no discomfort! Good luck!
