My appointment was a few days ago. All went well. The ligs were changed and the brace tightened and elastics added from the top hooks to the bottom hooks. The ortho said they are concentrating on closing the bottom gaps, then the top and then it will be just some fine tuning. Sounds promising but I wont get my hopes up just yet.

I turned up to the office dressed head to toe in pink, the ortho said I could have matching elastics, I did think about it, how cool would pink elastic be :-) But opted for the white ones.
After he applied the elastics he got me to have a look so I could see how I need to put them on. I was looking in the mirror, thinking OMG what have you done to me .

I asked the ortho about how long I should wear the bands for each day and he said that if I can keep them in all the time and change them every morning then they will do the job much faster.
I wasn't too impressed as they felt really strange. My teeth were alot more sore than usual. I managed to eat some pasta that night but by the next day I was in agony. Things have setteled down a bit today, they are still sore but I'm starting to get use the elastics being there. I've managed to keep them on while eating and none have snapped on me yet.

The first time I changed the elastics was a job and half. I kept pinging the elastics everywhere. My boyfriend tried to show me how to do it, as he went through the same thing but I just couldn't get the hang of it. Today things seem to be better, I got them on first time :-)

Everytime I think about taking them out I will just have to think how much I want the brace off and that will happen sooner if I wear them properly.

I was a bit naughty last night, I was suppose to have spaghetti bolognaise before I had my adjustment, but didn't get round to it, so I had it last night, it was so tasty and didn't even stain the ligs, I was quite impressed with myself, lol :-)

I have a bar of Galaxy cookie crumble, its the best chocolate ever but I don't think I will be able to tackle that yet. So in a few days when the pains gone down I've got that to look forward to. Ummmmmm, chocolate heaven :-)

My next adjustment is the 3rd December. Means my teeth wont be sore at christmas and I can enjoy all the lovely christmas food :-) Speaking of christmas, not long to go now, can't wait, I'm such a kid :-)

There's some pics below so you can see the elastics. Some of the ligs look stained, but on closer inspection I think it may be the glue underneath. My boyfriend assures me they will get it off when the braces are removed, I hope he's right. You can really see the gaps closing :-) The pics aren't the greatest, I wasn't finding it very easy to bite down as my teeth are still quite sore.
