I hate it when theres only a few days left for the next adjustment. It just never seems to come fast enough. My ligs seriously need changing, although I have been making the most of it by eating lots I wouldn't normally. Spaghetti Bolognaise tomorrow, my favourite

I really want the next appointment to come but I'm so dreading getting the bands, everyone keeps telling me their nothing to worry about, I just hope there right.

I'm just hoping my teeth wont hurt to much, they don't normally, but not sure whether the bands will make them hurt more. I hope there not to bad because I've got my boyfriends birthday meal the day after, otherwise it'll be soup for me.

I will have to ask about whether you take the bands off when eating, that may be a bit tricky after I've had a few drinks, lol. Mind you it's going to be a bit of a pain anytime if I have to take them out. I'm always eating. Don't think my work will be to impressed if I'm off to the toilets every 5 mins trying to de band and re band myself.

Well only 4 days to go, so I shall soon find out

By bands are you meaning elastics pb?

Most people find a few teeth ache a little after they start wearing elastics, but within a few days it's all good again. Chewing with teeth that ache is good, as it encourages blood flow, which helps the gums and the roots of the teeth.

Mostly we require our patients to wear their elastics while they're eating and this is what I've been doing for the three years I've been wearing elastics.

    Good luck!

Hi! the bands do a tremendous job--you will be thrilled! The first few days are tougher...I had a 3 day headache but really, got much better and when I was without them for a while I really missed them. I am back in them full time again now and there are no problems...few dull aches and pains but all in all, just fine. I keep mine in while eating, it's much easier to do that, then I change them when I brush. I change them probably 5-6 times a day, and wear them round the clock--the results are amazing...I had X rays to show progress from wearing the bands, and I was speechless to see how my bite had changed. I have pics on my blog somewhere to show how much they helped in 5-6 weeks! Good luck at your appointment--you are gonna do just fine!!!

    hey Sunny,

ahh thats what there called, I get confused with all the different names.
Thanks for the info, sounds much better to keep them in while eating, alot less hassle, which is always good. I do try and eat normally as quickly as possible, like you say I think it helps, that and I love my food

    Hey Candymom

sounds like the few days of pain will be worth it. I'm so pleased with how my teeth have straightened, just can't wait for the gaps to close and my bite to be right and from the sounds of it the bands will do just the job

I'll have to have a look at your blogs, I seem to have become some what obsessed with peoples teeth since I got the brace, lol. I love to see what progress people make, it's amazing to see the results that can be achieved

Thanks for both your help, I feel a bit better now
