  1. New to blogging and site.. 1st post

    by , 02-09-2009 at 04:36 PM
Well, since I am new to the site it was suggested that I keep a blog on here.. I am 32 but so new to all of this.

This is my 2nd round with braces, due to a cost discount I decided to go with the linguals. I knew it would be an adjustment, but to I underestimated it.

The braces were put in both upper and lower on Wednesday 2/4. Due to the layout they needed to put composite on the back molars so I didnt bite the brackets off the back of the eye teeth. This causes ...

  2. Out of the blue, my teeth are killin' me this morning.

    by , 02-09-2009 at 10:05 AM
I am in a tad bit of pain this morning, I usually have that constant feeling of pressure that varies from tooth to tooth and day to day. Last week or so, it was my other front tooth that was super sensitive (the one that moved so quickly and lined up) and now it is the other one. My upper left side is feeling quite painful and tight...and this is new, just yesterday. My head hurts and I am wondering what is changing next!!!! My bite definitly seems more pronounced, not liking that too much but I ...

  3. Second tray anticipation!!

    by , 02-09-2009 at 05:39 AM
Back again, thought I'd give an update on how I have settled in to my new Invisalign life!

Well in three days it will be time to change to tray 2! Very exciting, I even briefly thought I'd pop them in tonight just to check them out as I cannot see any difference between tray 1 and 2 but then thought that that would mean I would have to have tray 2 in for 2 weeks and 3 days so changed my mind. I can wait!!

So all pressure has gone and I even sometimes forget that I am ...

  4. Tray 4: My experience thus far

    by , 02-08-2009 at 10:30 PM
I am beginning week 7 of my Invisalign experience. My teeth are generally straight but I have a small over-bite and general spacing issues....not so hot. My friends assure me that the space between my front teeth gives me character. Ahh...I say boo to that. But I view others before photos and consider myself very lucky. I decided on Invisalign because I am 30 and work in consulting. I did not want to wear metal braces...I would rather suffer forever with my space than to look like a 12 year ...

  5. 1st Month Of Invisalign Treatment

    by , 02-08-2009 at 01:43 PM
I went through 3 different consultations and landed on an ortho that was very polite and confident in getting me results. The price was pretty average according to this site, but things are usually expensive up here.

    So I have the trays...

So far so good. The tray pops right in and is very tight. The first couple days I felt a little bit of discomfort as I thought they were MAYBE too tight, but my ortho assured me this is normal and a good thing since the teeth ...

  6. One week down!!

    by , 02-03-2009 at 07:31 PM
So tomorrow will be my first week in Invisalign and must say it has been a long week with all the life adjustments with food and cleaning habits but I can definately see myself getting use to the new routine.

All my fears and apprehension has now gone and I am looking forward to the next year and a half and the good thing is that my two front teeth will basically be straight by November so that's my first goal.

Trays are still a bit hard to get out but Im sure its just ...

  8. So I see changes....good I know, but on the "getting worse" side I think.

    by , 02-02-2009 at 11:38 PM

Well guys, here I am....28 days in....much better now at this point than I was at the beginning on January. There is definite movement in the front tooth. It has straightened up, but also now seems lower and makes my mouth seem crooked. I have a gap in my lowers that was not there before. I am having some sore spots in flossing, that were tighter (and some that are way looser) and I have trouble getting the ...

  10. Splitting trays!

by , 02-02-2009 at 02:50 PM (Tales of a snaggle-toothed bride to be!)
I've had quite a bit of bad luck with my upper trays splitting around my cross bite area. To date, trays 1, 3, and 4 have all split before their time. Hopefully this hasn't affected my treatment. Having said that, I slipped in my 5th upper tray last night without any difficulty and am still wearing my 4th bottom tray - which will put me out of sync for a week (but back in sync by next monday!).

Anyhow - I'm keeping my blog over at blogspot too and will be posting pictures over there ...

  11. Trays 3 fitted yesterday

    by , 02-01-2009 at 12:24 PM
Well thats the IPR on the bottom complete (i think going by my plan) ....it looks odd having these gaps where i never had them before but if it's for a reason i'll go with it. ( Still went and had a cry in the car afterwards coz i REEEEEEEALLY don't like IPR, I find it so painful, uncomfortable, generally a horrible experience Got a fair bit to be done on the top at the sides i'll not mind this so much I hope.......please be ok!!!

Anyways tray 3 fits well, it was a bit tight but ...

  12. My first negative of Invisalign

    by , 02-01-2009 at 01:37 AM
Its now 4 days in and while I know it is meant to get easier to remove the aligners I am still having trouble. Its to the point where I actually dread having to remove them because its actually quite stressful to do so. I think its because of the way my front two top teeth sit, one sits forward and one sits back and getting the tray over both of these puts tremendous pressure on them and its painful.

Having said that I guess I really have no choice but get use to it! I did ask the ...

  13. My first Invisalign outing!

    by , 01-30-2009 at 11:19 PM
Now its day three and for some strange reason I actually prefer to have them in than out. My teeth feel more comfortable to be snug than "loose". Didnt think I would be saying that!

So anyway, we went out for lunch today to all you can eat buffet. So I get there after firstly making sure I had my little cosmetic bag full of floss, brush and paste as well as my Invisalign holder (will now have to go and buy myself a new handbag to accommodate all the stuff I now have to carry ...

  14. 24 hours in and all is well...

    by , 01-29-2009 at 10:35 PM
So yesterday was day number one of roughly 570 days! That to me is a bit scary and the thought of wearing this for that long is a bit daunting SO I have decided to take it one day at a time and not focus on the future.

Everything is fine and I have no complaints but the dentist also told me that the first two trays wont do much to my teeth. I can feel the pressure on my teeth but most of the time I dont even realise that I am wearing them. Oh and must mention that I only have the ...

  15. Help!

    by , 01-29-2009 at 10:30 PM
Hey, everyone. I have a bit of a problem here. Today I popped out one of my bottom wires. It came out from my last molar, and it's cutting into my cheek like crazy. My ortho is in my home town, but I'm at school now, so I can't really go home for an emergency appointment. My next adjustment is in 2 weeks. I called the ortho, and he said it doesn't really matter that the wire is out, and it won't slow down treatment, so I should just cut it, but I can't get it. I also can't keep wax on it. It's driving ...
