Ok so I had my monthly checkup today, where my dentist puts new ligatures on my brackets, and she did a scale of my teeth. I think that she has created a black triangle inbetween the two front teeth on the bottom, because it definitely wasn't there before I went to the dentist and it's certainly there now! It looks like shes either chipped my tooth or cut off the top of the gum inbetween the two teeth. I read a post by Gerilyn Alfe, DMD Chicago Cosmetic Dentist after ...
Well its been 12 days since i had these braces put on. I still have some tender teeth but i must say the first few days sucked! I have already seen movement whichis awesome! Mostly in my fangs (lol thats what i call them) but overall it seems to be going alright. As you can see in my pics I had these blue "lifts" put on my molars to prevent my front teeth from hitting my brackets, let me tell u they rnot the most comfortable things! It really sucks eating with them ...
It's been about 8 days since I had the wires put in. I still can't bite into anything because it hurts but other than that eating has become more normal! I haven't seen any movement though The orthodontist said first the teeth will straighten before the gaps close. Wonder how long till I see a change....
Well I have an appointment on May 1st, but thought I'd update my blog while I have the time. I had my surgery on November 30th. So I'm about 5 months out. I'd say the swelling is 90% gone. I can still tell on the left cheek there is some. I have no complaints now, just kinda wanna get these off asap. MY ortho is still working with my back molars, applying torque. He is undoing what the palatal expander did when I was in my early 20's the first time around. The expander ...
krisapril18.jpg Sportin my new white Powerchains today! *NEW 24 hour update with pics at bottom!!* So today is *drumroll* my 9 month anniversary of my braces!! I also had my Orthodontic check up to celebrate the occasion. Heh. More great news and more great progress! Had my appointment at 10:30 this morning, and I knew I was due for a new set of Powerchains since I had just gone 6 weeks without having them so I was prepared for that. ...

In one week I will be halfway through my treatment, yay! Last night I put in tray #8....I immediately felt the pressure butt this time it was in my lower teeth. Usually I can feel it in my upper but today it's in the lower. I feel it pushing inward. It's not so bad so I expect it to feel normal after today. I can't wait to be done with all of this!!
I've never been a photographer. Well, that's a lie. I am a keen photographer but like to take pictures of other people and "things". Give me a camera and the British Queen or one of her corgi dogs and I am your man. Face the lens at me and I kinda change. When I say "change" I don't mean the "evil possession" type of change. I remember that sort of thing only too well when my wife had an unexplained case of mouth ulcers and the doctor told her she must ...

OUCH! My teeth are so tender and they get super sore when I try to bite into anything (even a piece of soft bread and cheese). Looks like I wont be eating much today Any advise from anyone who has gone through this? Thinking of taking an advil.
For some reason, my lower left brackets are really irritating my cheek. I have puffy area of my cheek the size of a penny... and my cheek is really sore. It started yesterday, I figured it was just from the backet, and would just put some wax on it, and it would go away. All the other cheek irriation I have had was just minor scraping of my cheeks, and didnt get puffy. I actually looked in my mouth this morning, and it looked like an open sore, and my cheek is visibly puffy from the outside. Hopefully ...
So today I had my wires put on the upper and lower teeth (the brackets were already in 11 days ago). The appointment was quite lengthy since my orthodontist had to also fit in two artificial teeth into the spaces where my extractions were at the top. The wires portion of the appointment took about 45 minutes. Getting the wires on was not painful. After the appointment I did not feel much discomfort except for a slight pressure on my teeth which I still feel. However, I ate normally. ...
the ortho guy gave me my bottom braces today but he made me get the ceramics on my molars because he was "afraid" i would get my bottom braces "bitten" off so now im stuck with a horrible taste in my mouth and i cant enjoy my food without gagging because of that horrible flavor... and now i have nausea... what should i do about it?
via my BLOG! Went to my adjustment today (15 minutes late and I literally RAN out my door lol) and my teeth are "almost there" according to my orthodontist. Good news... I guess? Here's what you've been waiting for... pictures! Double power chain! Yikes! They added a double power chain to my top 6 teeth. You can kind of see ...

Yeah, it's dampened my mood a bit... I've been on holiday with my family, and they commented on how my face seemed disproportionately swollen. I had felt a little pain, but I assumed this was still normal in the first year after surgery. However, I had a dentist appointment today and thought I'd better say something. So I told him I've been experiencing a few pains and he asked me whether it hurt as he was examining it. It didn't really so I said no. He had a poke around ...
So today is Day 11 since I had my incognitos bonded in on both the upper and lower teeth. On Feb 29th I had the braces put in (without the wires) and on April 3rd I had my second bicuspids removed as my teeth are overly crowded. The gaps can barely be seen however I am wondering how long they will take to close. Tomorrow I am going to have the wires put in and I am hoping this won't be as painful as I hear it is :s When I first got the braces put in I wanted them out! I realized ...
