Adjustment I had my first adjustment this morning. I feel some sensitivity in my teeth again, it really hurts to bite on things! It makes me feel good because when I first got the braces on I only felt sensitivity for like the first couple of days, then nothing. My ortho said that I would definitely feel it more this time around, and may even see some movement in my bottom teeth! I'm looking forward to that and will take pics at the end of the month. ...

Hello all! So it was chair time once again. I changed my ligs to pink and I'm still on elastics (left canine). So far progress is the usual, although I have noticed that my midlines are more aligned than before.. I will post pics soon. There is something I need to query with my ortho (since she wasn't at the office today, due to some emergency) I was put on "medium" elastics but I was on "heavy" the last time around... I didn't realized this until I ...

I feel like I've done nothing but moan since Friday, this really must stop! I need to get a grip! I'm so sorry guys, I will cheer up soon i'm sure....it's summery today! Going by the ortho's instructions I'm to take the bottom aligner out for 12 hours a day now. On saturday evening I took it out at 6pm and put it back in at midnight.......it was agony to go back in and I cant take painkillers just now. So I'm left with a dilemma, what do I do? Do I build up to 12 hours ...
So the gishy goo/braceze has been working, I have had to be a bit more imaginative about my eating habits, for instance I cant rely on sandwhiches for lunch as I cant bit into them! I am feeling slightly stronger although my clothes are still a bit baggy on the waist. My teeth, are still very tender to chew on I tried a strawberry just now and OW! Is this normal, I must say I didnt expect the soft food marathon to last this long...I am 3 weeks in and although the pain isnt as bad and my cheeks ...
So this is my first blog on here Someone said I should get one so here I am. This is probably gonna be a bit long so I recommend getting a snack now So this whole thing started February 10th, 2005 when I got my braces. After a while I got my wisdom teeth removed October 17th 2007 when I was 13 years old. The oral surgeon put me out and dug my wisdom teeth out. This was only the beginning of my oral surgeries. Actually when I was younger he had to cut part of the thing that ...
HI! Im new here, and new to braces. I just had a couple of questions for the people who have been in the Braces Game for a little longer... My story: I had 4 extractions because of crowding before the big day. I have ceramics on the top and bottom. Some clear ligatures. I just wanted little attention as possible! Anyway so far im just wonderingggg---- 1. Besides that sonicare toothbrush my dentist advertises like he gets a cut if he sells one, are there ...

So my treatment is now over - and more or less just 1 year from when it started! My final tray was in use for an additional month on top of the usual 2 weeks per tray. Although during that time my dentist checked my progress on 3 occasions. This week I visited for the last of these check ups, not actually knowing that there was more in store for me then I thought. First of all, a small wire was shaped to fit flush against the back of my top set. Then various fluids ...
Today I am RAGING!!!! I got IPR done between my two front teeth at the top which is not on the plan and according to the clincheck these teeth are not even due to move at all....needless to say I stopped him immediately and said "no" but he insists the binding between the teeth needs to be removed to allow them to move(why when in the clincheck they dont need to move at all?!). I'm at home looking in the mirror and am soooooo angry at this gap, and very very very upset as ...
Hi all. I have just tried a product called "Braceeze", its an alternative to wax and in my opinion sooo much better. It works in essentially the same way, however its clear and can stand up to eating better than wax. It is a clear silicone like substance that you squeeze from a tube, and apply with your finger, its smooth and easliy removed. I checked with my ortho and he said its fine to use with both ceramic and metal block brackets that are rubbing and causing soreness. ...
Hi all. I'm due to see the ortho tomorrow and not looking forward to telling him I'm a week behind with where he thinks I should be. With being ill in April I decided not to change trays weekly as I was told to do so I've been wearing tray 15 for 2 weeks. After being in so much tummy pain and that easing off then almost feeling normal I didnt want to have tooth discomfort next, I thought my body needed a rest. I'm sure the ortho wont be all that bothered. I was going to change to tray ...

I've been pretty excited about the last few trays. It feels like every day my teeth are straighter than they've ever been and each time I change trays, they get even straighter. Much more satisfying than the first 7 trays or so which were very much of the "it gets worse before it gets better" variety. I'm smiling more and more in pictures I've noticed and I'm beginning to get a better sense of what my teeth actually look like. Not that I didn't know before but I can now make out the ...

Well...after a horrid day yesterday and practically gagging at my 100th helping of mash potato last night I awoke at 3am sat in the kitchen and sobbed big fat hot tears for my poor sore mouth, my new ulcer...wax was applied religiously but well, who knows... and for my tender teeth. Enough was enough, straight on the phone to my Ortho this morning. I am to do the following... Take Zinc supplements, for bone re-growth and to treat Ulcer. Vit B complex for energy and Cell renewal. It seems ...
Hey everyone! Sorry I've been a little MIA for the past few weeks... but I had an adjustment about a week ago and thought I'd do an update. My ortho put some new bends in my upper wire and told me to stop wearing the elastic on my left and to wear a class II on my right, again. He is STILL trying to get the right side top teeth lined up with the bottoms so that he can start closing my bite. Right now it's still kinda open on that side and he can't close it til he knows my bite will be right ...
