I got my impressions done a couple of months back in late July and my first set of aligners arrived early this month. I have never had any braces before or any other correction to my teeth. I decided to go for Invisalign after seeing the change visible in my friend's smile.

My friend used the Invisalign braces for close to a year and the results are simply dramatic. I have decided to take the plunge and look forward to see similar changes in my smile. I had the option of trying traditional braces to correct the minor overcrowding at the top of my front teeth. However at my age I would not have been comfortable wearing the metal braces to say the least. The metal braces being conspicuous, was one reason why I was reluctant to use teeth aligners.

The other reason was the inconvenience usually associated with the process hindering talking and eating properly. I am happy to say that the same problems are non-existent with Invisalign. The aligners are easily removable ensuring I have no difficulty while eating. The fitting is also quite smooth and one hardly feels the aligners when they are on after a few days.

The best thing I love about Invisalign is that it gives adults the options to correct their teeth. Conventional braces though as effective are quite conspicuous when worn and more associated with kids and teenagers. An adult wearing the metal braces looks quite out of place socially. Some of my middle aged friends also have found Invisalign to be effective showing that it's never too late to get your teeth corrected. Wearing the aligners will not make you feel self conscious at all as they easily blend in with your jaw making it seem natural.

For me the most annoying thing was to forget wearing the aligners first thing in the morning and remembering about them just before leaving the home. I even went an entire day without wearing the aligners something which is a strict no-no if you want definite results. I came up with a solution to place the aligners next to the alarm clock. This ensured that I did not forget to wear the aligners immediately after brushing and breakfast. According to my friend the adjustments are worth it and after a few days it becomes part of a routine.
So let’s see how the results turn out after a few months. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
