  1. My treatment plan...

So, shortly after the new year, I will be getting braced. This is the second time in my adult life of having full braces and I am pretty excited. I feel like I know what to expect since I just had braces less than 10 years ago, but I also know that a lot has changed in orthodontics in that time frame.

I will be getting all my braces (top and bottom) on January 4th. I will not need any spacers or anything in preparation for having the braces put on. I wasn't sure if my next apt ...

I had to crank it every week with a key to expand it. After doing that for about a year, I was given a functional appliance called a Frankel, to promote proper ...
  4. Countdown to braces...January 4th is the big day!

    by , 12-09-2011 at 10:21 AM
As I approach 30, the last thing I ever imagined that would be happening to bring in the new year would be me getting braces...again! This will be my 3rd time undergoing orthodontic treatment. Needless to say, the past two attempts have only masked my major problem (moderate overbite) instead of fixing it. The fix in the past always involved jaw surgery, but the cost was never covered by insurance, so it never happened.

At this point, I have extremely straight teeth, a beautiful ...
