Well, it's finally time. Tomorrow at 9 am I am getting my Damon braces installed. I am excited and of course slightly nervous all at the same time. This is my third time with braces, but it has been 10 years. So, although I'm trying to act cool and like it's no big deal because I have been through it before, part of me is still a little hesitant.

Some of my family and friends recommended I delay getting my braces on due to the fact that I was promoted over Christmas break and will be starting my new job this week as well. I get my braces on tomorrow morning and I am flying out tomorrow afternoon to the annual leadership kickoff at my company. So, I will be meeting new people, socializing, etc, and dealing with the new braces all at the same time. I'm trying to give myself some credit and convince myself that it won't be a big deal. We'll see if it actually works out that way, or if over the next few days at the conference I will be completely obsessed and overwhelmed with my new mouth jewelry.

So...here goes nothing! I'm sure this time tomorrow I will be sitting in the chair, thinking to myself..."What have I done!?!?!?!" I will of course write an update when I can about how the first few days are going. If you have any advice or stories about the first 48-72 with braces I would love to hear them.

Good luck! I think you will be fine with braces. Just take a pain killer or two if your teeth get too sore!

I know exactly how you feel. I have an interview and then a public speaking engagement the day I have my braces placed. I hope to hear more about your journey also.
